It didn't happen unfortunately ,we had a very bad experience at this place and the service was bellow expectations. We left frustrated and will never go back. They charge even $2 for a few slices of bread,what a joke.I ordered Johny Walker whisky,judging by the colour and taste I don't even know what was in my glass but surely not Johny Walker.The woman owner showed up at table at some point wearing a dirty,full of stains sweater.I lost my appetite.Just wondering how clean is their kitchen...NOT.We don't recommend this place to anyone.

Portion is awesome and service, despite the owner being alone, was great. The Joiko soup is out fantastic... The old castle pork was good but not exactly what I expected... Then we finished with a awesome cheese strudel... A friend ordered the schnitzel Jager and her review is that it was delicious... I am coming back for sure....
D	D “DS79” S79 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was meaning to come to this restaurant for a long time and finally came for my birthday with my family. I definitely wasn't disappointed! The food was awesome! I shared a platter for two with my wife and it was more than enough. My family ate different items on the menu and everyone was happy with their meal. Portion size is huge and the meats were super tender. Their cabbage rolls tasted great as well. Service was great as well and everyone was nice. My only regret is not coming here sooner and I would definitely come back here again.

What a treasure we found and a delightful staff that is helpful and friendly. I’ve been to Budapest and the food is identical. Loved it and will come back!

We were seated and after waiting for approximately 10-15 minutes, we were not given a menu to look at and no drinks or water offered. While another table that was seated after us was already served wine. I am not sure if this had anything to do with it, but our table was the only visible minority in the restaurant. We left without eating and will not be returning. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: 1. Server did not apologize 2. A table seated after us ordered and was served wine before we got water and menu, which suggests possible preferencial treatment. 3. Is it supposed to somehow be my fault that your restaurant is "short staffed"?

The food was authentic Hungarian cuisine, and delicious. We had excellent and friendly service. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I	Irene H on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A local restaurant located in Main St. Newmarket, The Goulash House is a must visit if you’re looking to try delicious Hungarian food ? The menu is accessible through a QR code, and once you’re ready, you just let the server know. We ordered the Beef Goulash and Schnitzel on a Bun (you can choose between chicken or pork), and both took roughly 10-15 minutes to arrive. I loved the Beef Goulash, it was very flavourful and there were a lot of tender chunks of beef shanks in it too. I would say it’s the perfect comforting meal to have on a cold winter day! The Schnitzel on a Bun was also very nice, the buns were soft and the chicken was nicely battered too. It’s made similar to a katsu but it’s much thinner, less flakier and definitely didn’t taste as oily. Try dipping abit of the bread in the Goulash, it’s a great combination ? The Schnitzel on a Bun also came with fries and I loved how it was nicely seasoned as well! We definitely had leftovers as the portions were quite generous.
