★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Met Shand over 20 years ago. He is as unique as his store - definitely a unique addition to the Edmonton audio scene. When I first went in there, I noticed ATC and PMC monitors in and around home theatre speakers. This is not your "home theatre warehouse" type of store - it's much more. In the company of other audiophiles, we had a number of different auditions in the main listening room that were nothing short of phenomenal. Shand has a genuine passion for sound and music and he's a really different and interesting character. You really need to just meet this guy because when you do, the equipment he chooses to sell will suddenly make sense to you. I recommend people experience this store - and Shand - for themselves. No other shop like it! I like Shand because whether I'm buying a component or a pair of speaker connectors, he treats me like gold. So, I'm a fan.

Great selection of products, from entry level to pure audiophile nirvana. Very competitive prices even compared to online and amazing customer service. If you require anything this should be your first and last stop!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This store should have 5.1 stars! The owner is super knowledgeable and funny, and always willing to talk about audio/video. He is happy to work with you at your level - if you want a top of the line custom built theater, he has a solution for you. If you want a projector to put on your shelf and point at a lower cost screen, he has a solution for you. There is never a time I have not left this store with a big grin, and sometimes a lighter wallet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought 150w towers from these guys 15 years ago. My son had pushed in one of the tweeters with his finger so I called Shand to see if I could buy some replacements. He said he would send me a replacement free of charge! I later got an email from him saying he was going to send me two tweeters so I could replace the the one in my other tower. He wanted to make sure the sound was uniform from both towers. Superb customer service experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried Audio 5.1 for first time. Received great service and purchased a Denon AVR-S960H Receiver. Unfortunately could not setup network connection out of the box which is not the stores fault. Audio 5.1 exchanged receiver hassle free with new unit. Very impressed with willingness to help and make things right. Service better than I have experienced at big box stores and prices are competitive. Highly recommend this store for that personal touch. Also very happy with my new Denon AVR-S960H. Sounds great and setup is easy! Will be buying all my Home Theatre and sound equipment at Audio 5.1 in the future.

He's also is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it come to gear. By the way he will also take the time to explain. Also very impressed that his excellent recommendations were not the most expensive. I can't thank you enough Shand! Highly recommend for all your audio visual needs.

They even had receivers in stock that were impossible to find in the big box stores. I definitely plan to return there for any home theatre needs.
