I have always enjoyed our dealings with the staff over at Assertive (now Asssertive Northwest). I've found their office to be prompt and responsive when making inquiries and the managers to be professional and reliable.

UPDATE: Jim Alison is at it again! Or should I say not doing his job again. They are asking me to get rid of my motorcycles during COVID-19, I have 2, because Strata doesn't require to provide motorcycle parking although we have visitor motorcycle parking which never gets used and the residential motorcycle parking is blocked by a tractor. This company is absolutely useless. He doesn't do any management he's just a middle man from strata. And he emailed me saying not to email him again, and that all emails had to go through my landlord. He's essential saying I have no rights as a tenant. I have been living here 7 years now! I wish I could put no stars! No customer service what so ever, the president of the company and my property manager Jim Alison will not return my calls. I don't understand how a company who is suppose to be Managing your building doesn't answer messages or calls when you have issues. Not helpful at all, and won't resolve my issue.

I don't understand how these people get anything done. Im so disappointed that this is the company my strata chose to use them. I have to follow up on EVERYTHING...and we had a leak and it's been a month and they had the restoration come in before the plumbing is fixed and if i didn't work from home, nothing would be done. I am the project manager on this project pretty much. i have no idea what they are managing.

One of the worst customer service you'll ever experience. They do not return your calls, will ignore your requests and inquiries. Just like that. They also quit without any advanced notice! How about announcing they are dropping your right in the middle of the AGM.Just...wow... Good luck if you have them managing your property.

We've had Assertive manager our property for years, and they are pretty good. Building is well maintained, the treat Council respectfully, and are skilful at dealing with difficult owners.

jim alison.. weve been bothered by the uncivilized people living above us, imagine doing her laundry until 1-2am.. for months! and this man named jim alison didnt even respond on our email even once! until now at this very moment, 00:19 oct 22, 2020, laundry is running above us.. Jim is very unreliable, and very unprofessional. i wonder why he is still have a job? people are suffering because of his ineffectiveness

I shouldn't be too surprised at the low average rating, because for this type of business, a lot of the people who are going to bother to write a review are only doing so because they have a gripe. My honest experience? Pretty good. Sometimes I didn't hear back from them for longer than reasonable (up to two weeks) but if I bugged the manager again, it got dealt with, and they did deal with the issues properly. They are a vast improvement over the previous properly management company our strata used.

This review is purely a building management complaint directed at Jim Allison. Judging from the other reviews directed at him, I'm not the only one that takes issue with his unprofessionalism and lack of care towards tenants. First encounter I had with Jim was when leaf blower contractors were entering my private patio without notice, especially because I have an anxious dog and because we're in the middle of a pandemic. When I simply wrote a request to ask for notice of this work being done on my private property, Jim refused to give notice and told me that if I didn't want people entering my property, I should put a fence up and maintain my own property. Besides that, our building is regularly hounded with emails from him related to work that needs to be done in our building, all of which are quite brusque and insensitive to the needs of tenants (scroll down to related review about a tenant's motorcycles). The latest in particular, is related to sewage cleaning being done in the storage locker areas. Jim said, if we don't remove our things from our lockers by certain dates, he can't promise that "HUMAN WASTE" won't be landing on and around our property. I while I get that managing a property and it's tenants is not an easy job, there's no need for messages that come off inhuman and frankly very threatening? At the end of the day, Assertive, I know this is a business. But you should understand that there are people and families living here. This is our home, and you should employ people that treat tenants with a little more care and respect.
