β β β β β My daughter had 2 trial classes. She didn't have any experiences or learning of Jiu Jitsu before, but she needed to be sparring with a boy who had been learning lot. He chocked her, so my daughter cried.
They didn't teach skill to her but make her to sparring with experienced boy. And the boy didn't apologized properly to her.
I think this is not professionally built in learning process for beginner.

β β β β β I've been training at Alliance Vancouver, formerly East Vancouver Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, since it opened in 2013. It is safe to say without any doubt that this academy is the best that British Columbia, maybe even Canada has to offer. I wouldn't recommend training anywhere else in Vancouver, because you can't find a more friendly welcoming group of individuals that also train at such a High level of competitive and technical Jiu Jitsu.

β β β β β I've been training here since 2015 and I love it. The level of instruction is excellent for all skill levels including beginners, hobbyists and serious competitors at all belt levels. Strong emphasis is placed on technique and details in every class. All the coaching staff are extremely friendly and welcoming as well as being experienced competitors themselves. There's plenty of opportunity to train both gi and no gi with tonnes of classes every week. The facilities are well looked after and the vibe here is very friendly and respectful. Highly recommend coming to train with us at Alliance. Big Oss!

β β β β β East Van BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) is home to some great Jiu Jitsu players in the city led by coach Walter Buse. The environment is good for beginners, intermediate, advanced practitioners and is currently building up a solid kids, teens, program. The advanced competitors train at major tournaments so there's plenty of well-versed practitioners. I recommend this gym - if you're looking for solid fundamentals and tough competitors to take on, who are well-versed in modern Jiu Jitsu.

β β β β β This gym has the perfect balance of competitiveness and friendliness. Everyone is genuinely nice and helpful in an environment that encourages each student to push themselves. All of the instructors are laid back but very professional. The facility is well maintained and classes always run on time. I couldn't ask for more.

From someone who had never tried Jiu Jitsu before I was welcomed, lost a ton of weight, learnt new skills in a friendly environment and had help from the team and the coaches every step of they way.
