★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'd give this shop a negative rating if I could. I checked on Google and it said the shop was open at 9am. Called the number and spoke to the owner who said we don't open till 10. I said "oh sorry, Google said you are open" (why answer the phone if you're not?). He said "huuuh....well we're not"! I asked " since I have you on the line can I ask you a question"? He said " huh, ya sure, if you wanna bother me at home"!...
Get it together Afro! Horrible attitude. Not sure why anyone who is not organized enough to know when his own shop opens and advertise accordingly is in business!!. What a joke.....I'll spend my money elsewhere and I suggest everyone else should too!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This business has recently changed hands, and service has plummeted. When we bought a hobby-grade RC car from the previous owner, he was lovely, assuring me that everything could be repaired and that he would even show my son how to make the repairs himself. Imagine my dismay when I returned a year and a half later, to find he was gone. The new owner seems more interested in playing with his friends on the race car track than helping customers. I was informed that there was more than a month’s wait for repairs, as he gestured vaguely at a messy table covered in RC vehicles and parts. He wouldn’t even have a quick look. I thought perhaps it was just that the battery was dead, and he told me I needed to buy a $100+ charger because the AC ones that come with the car are “junk”. Finally, when I asked to buy a new battery, he told me it out be $25. When the till asked me for $39.20, and I queried the difference, he defensively showed me the scanner and said, “well, that’s what it scans at!!” rather than apologizing that he’d misquoted the price.
Maybe adult RC car enthusiasts will find a kindred spirit here, but if you have a kid or teen, this is no longer the place to go. I left feeling very uncomfortable and unhappy.
BC Shaver & Hobbies in Hillside Mall also repairs RC cars! They found that the motor needed to be replaced, for which they charged me $13 plus $10 labour, and it was done in 24 hours.

He was the only guy I could talk to on the phone, on a Monday on the whole bloody island.
He also accommodated non local military members with help on shipping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this gem of a store today. I was greeted by Afro and his excellent staff and I was blown away by how friendly and knowledgable everyone was. It almost felt like I have met them before. They had a healthy amount of stock and variety to keep things interesting which is great. I find most shops try to push a “brand” and down talk others, but there was nothing but love for all the brands contributing good products toward the hobby.
I wanted to rent a drift car to use on his track and he had one ready right away. Afro and his staff were super helpful on giving me pointers and assistance as I played with the drift car. Towards the end of the session I was super comfortable with the handling of the vehicle, just had to “send it” lol
I would visit every day of the week if I was local. Can’t recommend this place enough for your rc car needs!
