On April 30, we placed a large order with Zaad. Not only did our food taste generally disappointing, we were missing our Hummus, and worst of all, some of the Shish Tawook was entirely raw in the middle (see pictured), which to our dismay, we only discovered after one of my friend’s kids ingested some. Since I will typically reach out to a restaurant before I leave a bad review, I submitted my detailed feedback through Zaad’s online contact form the week this happened. To my disappointment, no one bothered to reach out and try to rectify the situation which speaks volumes about a restaurant’s interest in producing a positive customer experience. Would absolutely not recommend.

The food is stunningly tasty,it fed four people. The fries were crunchy and flavorful as expected. The interior design was actually good looking. I enjoyed the interior design since it was simple but still creative. I would bring someone here for friend communion.

I ordered two platter (one chicken and one beef shawarma). Their portions are really good. However, the sauce takes away any taste. If you actually taste the meat on its own, it’s very dry and poorly seasoned. Another bad experience I had, I ordered the beef with no hot sauce. I returned it, instead of replacing the plate. They took the meat out that has the sauce and added a new one. However, you can still tell it has hot sauce. This is not authentic shawarma. This more like β€œosmos” where they add too much sauce to hide the taste of the actual shawarma.

Would return. Been eyeing this place for awhile - lovely local small business producing fantastic middle Eastern fare. The plate offered fantastic flavours though would recommend adding extra meat. They give it separately so you know it's additional ;) Fries were a little over done in some pieces. Pricing is par for the quality, if a little premium over places like halal guys. Sauces were flavourful and garlic is solid. Pickles were fresh and crunchy. I recommend you try it out.

Slow service, decent shawarma, ok prices. Came here for lunch, got two shawarma for $22 with tax. They proceeded to cut them into pieces making it very hard to eat, don’t know why they did this and didn’t ask before.

We ordered multiple items for the entire family. Chicken pockets were quite good but my Salmon plate with rice and salad was very dry. Fries were ok. Overall food quality was average. Downtown location for halal food is the most desirable part of the experience.

Generous portion delicious authentic shawarma plates. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended for middle eastern food lovers. Fresh ingredients.

Really really good shawarma. The ingredients are fresh and the prices are fair for the portions. Service is a bit slow (understandable for how busy this place is) and the dine-in tables could be a bit more ergonomic. Besides that, I can’t complain. I’d recommend the platters, especially the salmon kebab; it’s not something you can find at many M Eastern restaurants, and they do it really well.
