World Gym

I was looking for a gym to train at while I was visiting the city. World Gym offered the best day pass which lasts for 24hrs. I got my pass for an affordable price at 9pm one day and would be able to return to the gym with the same pass! How cool is that? Pros - clean, spacious, innovative equipment, affordable, friendly staff and environment Ps. Better machines and free weights than L.A fitness south end (in my opinion).

World gym please change your hours. Lot of my friends moved to different gyms for not being at 24hr service. I am Waiting for you to get back on 24hr gym. Otherwise I have to buy fit4less membership.

I have been a member with this gym since 2012… last year I was out in the position to be moving 3 hours away to take care of a dying family member, they wouldn’t allow me to put my account on hold unless I had documentation, so I requested to cancel not even a week later that family member passed away. I went in to uncancel my original cancellation request. I was told it was being brought to management and would be taken care of. I was also on the VIP Blackcard membership which with taxes I paid $22.60 a month I was reassured my grandfathered rate would stay the same. I tried to go in September of this year and was told I didn’t have an account but was charged for the $44 maintenance fee but couldn’t access the gym… I was told again someone from management would look into this reinstate my account and make sure I was put back into my grandfathered rate. After waiting 2 months for someone to call me. I went in to find out what was going on because I need to utilize the child care to go to the gym and was told my account was not reactivated and was not put back to my old rate. The front desk girl did get in touch with management and called me back to let me know they would waive the enrolment fee and card fee but I have to pay 2 months up front and will be put on the new rates of $32. So I asked well I was charged a maintenance fee so can we not just put that towards the 2 months I would be paying today… bottom line this gym is constantly going under new management and they do not care about their members AT ALL!! I used to love this gym and would recommend it to everyone. I always heard the horror stories that happen from people cancelling etc but I still backed up this gym!! If you’re looking for a gym this place is not it !!

Was in Barrie for a week for work, needed somewhere to work out, used to go to World Gym elsewhere and loved it. I call to ask about a day or week pass, spoke with a female staff member who said “yep day passes $15 and week passes $33”. I also asked if they had bumper plates, she said yes (they do not lol). Then when I get there later the same day, a male staff is at the desk. They say nope, no day or week passes. I said…. what? He calls his manager, who confirms no week passes, but they do have day passes, $10/day. I was like….. ok fine. The next day- I show up to work out, different guy at the counter, he says “day pass, sure! $15.” I was like ………. What? He assured me I didn’t know what I was talking about. Basically, train your staff, what a hassle. The gym itself is decent, though really not a great vibe overall (see pic - great way to insult multiple genders). If you’re looking for somewhere to work out for a week, it’s fine and the cheapest option, but get written confirmation of the price lol. If you’re looking for a new gym to go to regularly…. There are better options.

Extremely hard to cancel, be aware. I am on a month to month membership. They had sent me an email with a form to fill out to cancel as it was during covid lockdown. The form does not open, I tried multiple pcs and phones. I replied back if there was any other form I could fill out as the one sent doesn't work. No response back at all, and still being charged every single month. Long time member as well since almost the opening of world gym barrie.....

Good gym. Good price. Not a fan of the CNC CNN playing in half the TVs. Apparently they can’t change the channel. Not fun seeing Trudeau on tv and all the liberal agendas being propagated when at the gym. Also, would be nice if they didn’t play music in the change rooms when trying to relax in the sauna. Not the cleanest place as I don’t think they ever clean the sauna. Decent but could be 4-5 stars if they fixed a few things. This is IMO

Its one of the better gyms with a good assortment of equipment and annual fees are reasonable. Staff are pleasant and members are considerate when using the equipment. Two criticisms. Service your rowers properly and put them on a level surface. Fix the dip in the floor near the back of the gym.

The staff are very pleasant and the gym is well equipped, but the payment system is not great. Is very easy to sign up, can be done online in a couple of minutes. Canceling the membership, however is not so simple. The gym itself is very nice. But the system it works upon, not so much.
