About Wok N' Go

Our Story

As a family, we’ve been involved in Edmonton’s restaurant community for many years. In keeping with this tradition, we created Wok N’ Go in 2004 because, while there are many options in Edmonton and surrounding areas for tasty Chinese food which everyone loves, we found it was difficult to find a restaurant that offered its customers the taste, convenience, value and professionalism we’ve come to expect all in one establishment.

My wife and I were both raised in traditional Chinese homes and we both immigrated from Hong Kong at a very young age. Growing up and eventually raising our own three children in Edmonton, we’ve enjoyed a distinctly Canadian life style, while proudly keeping and sharing many of our Chinese customs with family and friends. We created the Wok N’ Go concept with this history in mind. We wanted to combine delicious traditional Chinese food that reflected our heritage with the fast-paced, fun and convenient aspects of the Canadian life style that are just as much a part of who we are.

You can see the Wok N’ Go difference as soon as you enter one of our restaurants. From our large, easy to understand menus to our inviting open-kitchen concept, we’re committed to delivering the Fresh, Fast and Fun Chinese Food experience to all of our customers. When you come into our restaurant you are in essence walking into our kitchen, where you can watch our chefs prepare your dishes. Your food is cooked from scratch when it is ordered and never pre-made. This process allows us to have your meal ready in minutes using only the freshest ingredients.

As family has been such a central element of the Wok N’ Go concept, it is important to us that we continue to operate our restaurant not only with the consistent professionalism our customers have come to expect but also with a commitment to family values and friendships. At Wok N’ Go we uphold these values through our business hours and by closing for all major holidays. Today, the Wok N’ Go family has expanded and is co-owned by several close friends who’ve believed in and are equally committed to the Wok N’ Go difference.

Oh my. Ordered chicken Chow Mein, the chicken looked like it was boiled chunks. Tasted like fish. The deep fried wontons have no filling, just fried pastry(ish). Missing an item. Sloppy and runny food. The almond chicken was good, to say one nice thing.

We went to the this place on May 23, 2020 and it was awful. We threw it out it was so horrible. They also are cheap with there food. We ordered deep fried wontons and the meat was smaller than a pea if it had any. The chow mein was like spaghetti and partially burnt. The spring rolls were only half stuffed and full of oil. Absolutely disgusting worst Chinese food I have ever had. Never again. Will go to the city if we want Chinese food in the future. For the price it was expensive for food we found inedible.

Order the food over the phone and specified that there was a all Nut and Shellfish allergy. When I picked it up the menu only showed that the cook had been notified that there was a Shellfish allergy, not Nuts. They did nothing to rectify the situation in terms of remaking the items to insure the food was allergy free. Terrible customer service. Threw the order out!

Usually this is a great place for my husband to pick up food after work as a treat. The last few times the food has not been great....Singapore noodles bland with lots of sprouts for filler, chop suey was watery, the chicken was ok, portion size a lot smaller than before. Irritating and won't be back.

Ordered our usual favorites and almost everything was disappointing. The Shanghai noods were mush, steamed rice was under cooked, the ginger beef was bland, and the mixed veg had leftover burnt bits from the wok they were cooked in. Also the bottom of the bag was a mess, something leaked and got sauce over everything.

Ordered chicken chow mein, and chicken fried rice. Both of these items had no flavour what so ever. The soya sauce packs also were terrible.

I got the ginger beef with soya sauce chow mein noodles. It was absolutely incredible. Fresh and plenty in the serving. Very full of flavour. I will be going back soon for more ?

I was extremely disappointed with our recent order. We ordered the pepper beef and received like 5 pieces of meat and the rest was all vegetables. Odd for a meat dish. Same thing with the lemongrass chicken. Very few pieces of meat and the taste was ok but not great. Also the vegetable chowmein was extremely bland. Super disappointed in the taste.
