Alexis has been working in early childhood education for over 25 years. She graduated with an Associate Diploma of Social Sciences (Early Learning & Childcare) in December 2000. She also holds a Child Development Supervisor certification. Alexis was born and raised in Scotland and moved to Perth Western Australia when she was 13 years old. She thought this was the best place on earth until she decided to make the move to beautiful Calgary Alberta from Western Australia with her family 7 years ago. It has been a great experience for her; she's extremely passionate about early childhood education and believes it’s important to create a great learning experience for children and their parents, as well as her team of staff. She looks forward to coming to work each day and providing each child in her care with an enriched environment and safe place for them to grow and develop in a positive caring manner. It is her vision that each child who comes through Willowbrae's door joins a community of children, families and teachers engaged in the joy, work and wonder of childhood education. This Academy is expected to open early 2018. We are hiring Early Childhood Educators to create another great Willowbrae Academy.

Love the App, Cameras, Chef and included food plan, progress reports and wonderful environment. Alexis and Annie were so helpful with the transition of my child into full time care. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter has been assisting to willowbrae for over 4 months. I am more than comfortable to highly rate the academy. The amount of love and care the staff members show to the kids cannot be covered with the tuition paid.
Miss Adriana, Miss Elena and Miss Annie are angels that make me feel sure that I am leaving my daughter in the best place where she can spend the day.
They have a great curriculum, excellent food, wonderful staff and good location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent facility! As a first time mother I was a bit nervous about the people who would influence my child each day and I could not have picked a better facility. Cameras allow me to peek throughout the day to sooth my momma blues. Staff are exceptional and show genuine affection for all the children in their care. My child's happiness and easy smiles each day a testament to this nurturing environment. Food is well balanced and any special food needs are easily met.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Initially thought this was a great daycare but I've now enrolled my son at a different location with Willowbrae and they are completely different. This location kept giving the same fruits (not much variety ) mostly used to be melons which was hard for infants to chew.
The classroom floors seemed like they weren't mopped for ages, my socks got really dirty after spending an hour during the Christmas party, my child was always sick and I would find out that the teacher took my infant (who was a thumb sucker) to climb the staircase which was used by people with their outdoor shoes! Although the staff members all tried their best to greet you during drops offs and pick ups, it didn't equate in their interaction with the children in the classrooms. The teachers in the infant room looked miserable and didn't seem to enjoy their job.

The colors are bright, bold and fun. Everything is so clean and high quality. The atmosphere is great and the playground is wonderful. We're so glad we found this daycare and are here to stay! ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Initial impression of this academy was great, the site tour was informative and the director Alexis was nice and answered all our questions. Due to unforseen circumstances we had to pull out our 2 year old son the first week as he did not have a good experience there. We noticed he was sad most of the time on the liveview camera; and our son kept saying hi to one of the lady but she was not responding at all so we felt like our son was being neglected. We know it's a daycare that takes care of a lot of kids but at least put some interest or compassion, and interact with them, especially if its their first week. Our kid was still in a transition period and we were hoping they could have been more understanding and supportive. They are toddlers and they need some attention as well. Our son also got sick on his 3rd day and it is something we didn't expect at all; we heard that kids get sick most of the time if they go to bigger facility, but this is something we never thought would have happened on his 1st week. And lastly, since our kid was only there for 3 days and half, we were hoping that they would have been more understanding with our situation and will only make us pay a portion of it, but no, we still have to pay for a full month. We felt like that they are only doing this just for business and for their own benefit. So our big advice, before signing up..make sure your kid will be able to transition right away, expect for the unexpected and know that you'll be spending a lot of money if it doesn't work out.
