Little gem in the area, Very responsible owner with deep knowledgeable for the solutions to get the jewelry fixed, very reasonable price and done great job. If you are looking for some reliable place to get your jewelry fixed this is the one.

Highly recommend for good quality work. Dan is an artist! I had a ring custom made from two others and he did exactly what I wanted! We have been back for resizing and other jewelry repairs and I was treated with kindness every time.

Bought several custom pieces from Daniel. Each piece was perfectly crafted and the design was exquisite... pure artistry. These pieces will stay in the family. Also, the service was amazing. I highly recommend this place.

This place is an old school gem! I needed two links taken off my watch, only charged me $10. All I had my my debit card and he told me not to worry about it, went to the bank machine for cash! The money for the stories alone was worth it. Great owner and store!

I went to this jewelry shop to replace my watch battery. The door was locked and the owner inside with a customer asked me if I had made an appointment. Very rude owner. I said welcome to Hamilton and walked away. Stay away from this place!

My mother brought her 100 year old antique clock in to be repaired on October 7, 2021. She was told it would take 1 month for it to be repaired. 1 month later the clock was not repaired, and still in pieces. Daniel continuously lied, was rude, and postponed my mother picking up the clock as every time she called it was still not fixed. She continued calling every 2-3 weeks hoping it would finally be repaired, until she was fed up and decided to go pick up the clock on February 1st 2022. After 4 long months she picked up the clock, which was still broken and now in pieces. Furthermore, the glass had been removed and was broken. After continuous lies and terrible service, we do not recommend this business. Take your antiques and business elsewhere. Edit: Your response to my review doesn’t make any sense as we are not moving to the maritimes, unfortunately you’ve got us mixed up with some other customer. Unfortunate that other people have had these problems as well. Your attitude in your response reflects your customer service skills. Good day.

We spent close to 2 hrs with this man, he sketched/took notes on an entire page. He was beyond disorganized, but we came on a recommend (from decades earlier), and I’ve dealt with eccentric jewelers before, so we have him a shot, He told us that he would have prototype rings made for us in a week, if we liked them, he would design and create the wedding bands. After this consultation, I emailed him pictures of my fiancΓ©s engagement ring (at his request). Over a month later, I called and he had zero recollection of even meeting us. He claimed to have been β€œon medication”. Of course, I found the email I had sent, and forwarded it back to him. At this point, my fiancΓ© was ready to move on, but we happened to be going into Westdale, and I insisted we stopped by, thinking he would have to recognize our faces (we spent close to 2 hrs with him)…he had no idea who we were. Then, very rudely wished us luck as we left. I don’t know how this person is still in business. At best, I would say he’s in early stages of dementia. Stay away.

Save your valuable items and avoid this place: I visited Westdale Jewellers to replace my watch battery. The owner (Daniel) used a knife to try to open the back cover. He couldn't open it and got the shiny original cover badly scratched in over 8 places. When I was shocked for what he just did, he simply said he cannot go back in time. After a long debate in which he tried to devalue my watch, his solution was to keep the watch for a week so that he would take it to another guy to get it open and get the battery replaced, and he would then polish the cover for free. It's worth noting that if he polishes the cover, the engravings will become almost invisible. After a week, I came back to pick it up. It was only slightly polished (all scratches were still there), and cover had been opened and closed, but the battery was not changed! I asked for a new cover or a refund, and he had no clue who to contact for the spare parts. I ended up getting a $50 refund. I eventually got the battery replaced in Toronto at a professional place with special tools for watches, for $5 (half of what he charges for this). He may be a guy with good intentions, but I definitely would not recommend him for his unprofessionalism, bad technical skills and carelessness.
