The building may be really old but the staff their deserve 5/5. Absolute amazingly kind people working there.

I have been in here several times to visit friends. It is a very old, crowded building. Residents are parked in a narrow foyer in their wheelchairs facing across from each other just sitting there waiting to die. It is horrible.

We had a TERRIBLE experience at West Shore Laylum. Fraser Health placed my father at this care facility in March, 2016. West Shore Laylum lost my father's new hearing aids, 2 pairs of prescription eyeglasses, leather wallet, belt, shoes, hat, shirts and a number of other personal belongings. The management showed a complete lack of empathy and interest when we reported these items missing. BEWARE: There is absolutely no accountability or responsibility for the possessions of the vulnerable residents. Don't expect any apologies when things "mysteriously disappear" either. WEST SHORE LAYLUM JUST DOESN'T CARE. Avoid this facility at all costs.

Westshore Laylum may be old, but it is by far the best care Home in the lower mainland. Both of our parents have been lucky enough to spend their final years in this most caring facility. The staff are incredibly kind and really put the patients concerns at the top of their list. The food, activities and atmosphere make for a warm and friendly place to call home. Thank you to all of the staff for making Mom & Dad’s final years so pleasant.

My father spent only 9 months at West Shore Laylum. It is an old run-down, crowded building. During his stay, we found that his overall physical condition really deteriorated. To us he seemed over medicated, barely walking, no longer able to feed himself. Upon moving to another care Facility in Vancouver, his physical condition and energy immediately improved. He was walking and able to feed himself. We also discovered that while staying at West Shore Laylum, many of my father's personal belongings mysteriously went missing. Numerous phone calls and emails regarding the missing items were to no avail. The staff and Management of West Shore Laylum showed a real lack of caring. We as a family heard nothing but excuses from Management. Never an apology! Seniors in care deserve better.

My mom was in west shore laylum for the past 2 years. She was in the new building in whiterock. She was always treated with respect and kindness. She passed away recently and she passed with full dignity. The staff kept me updated everyday. The staff was friendly and the facilities were always clean. It is always a very big decision when it is time to put your parent in a home and I must say I am sure I made the right decision to choose West Shore Laylum.
