We moved our Mom into The English Manor based on all the facilities and care that Sue and Charlie claim to provide.
Our mom has dementia and had been living independently with care-givers in attendance for 12 hours of the day. As she was beginning to require overnight care we thought The English Manor could provide this. Sue and Charlie told us that we would no longer require our own daily care-givers as they were particular about who they would work with.
Our Mom told us many things that upset her about the English Manor and we all feel very ashamed that we blamed it on the dementia and didn't listen. This finally changed when we received a phone call at 6 am from The English Manor saying our mom had a cut on her head and needed some stitches. Somehow she had fallen and they'd found her on the floor. When we took her to emergency we were questioned extensively about how this had happened as it was more than a small cut and she should have been attended by an ambulance. They would not let us return our mom to the same place and called in a senior specialist to help find us a new care home.
The English Manor looks very nice and is kept very clean. There are no programs except for a TV. The meals provided were healthy and tasty but the schedule was rigid. Lights go out and there is nothing from after dinner until breakfast.
