J	John Dunn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an amazing place. They have done a fabulous job thinking out every little detail to make this an incredible community. It is stunning inside and very comfortable, while making you believe you are at a resort. The highlight of the establishment is the Atrium. It is a tropical beauty that has comfortable chairs to curl up with a book or stop by for tea and cookies. The facility is clean and bright and the staff, for the most part, are attentive and quick to act. They are still working out some communication bugs, but I have faith this will come together in time.

I have known the Zlepnig family for decades and this facility is a continuation of the legacy that Bill and Louisa build when this property was the Southway Hotel. Attention to details, excellent staff and management and finally excellent rooms and dietary options.

The Waterford Retirement Community offers many amenities to compliment the aging population’s needs and wants. For example, fresh meals daily alongside the choice of something else if you do not like the options, a theater, a gorgeous atrium, private areas for personal events, bus trips, yoga instructors, nail care, hair care, etc. You name it they got it! Staff who choose to work dedicatedly to the individuals who live in this community work very hard and are some of the finest employees in Ottawa. This company takes pride in the details when it comes to servicing the aging population. This company hires only the best and buys the best for individuals who choose the enrichment lifestyle. The Waterford Retirement Community team bends over backwards to ensure clients get what they want when they want it. Thank you, Waterford Retirement management, staff and community, for making the environment what it is, unforgettably pleasurable, comfortable and welcoming.

The management and employees have a special gift which they share with all the residents and work together as one Family. The best part of any day is to see the smiles on the residents faces while they enjoy the daily fun activities and the fantastic food. We all look out for one another and communicate any concerns, which are always dealt with in a timely manner. It truly is a Community. The family values are at the fore front of every day living. The staff are strong and work together well with the same goal in mind. The TEAM and family owned ideals and environment allows for residents and visitors to feel welcome at all times.

Fall risk residents left without adequate supervision despite repeated urging of this very simple concept. Did not enjoy. Found memory care grossly inadequate. Left and recieved a settlement over an issue that the union sided with me on that management was being absurd. Did not enjoy and would not recommend. I'd like to add: the Christmas bonus I got from the supposedly wealthy people that own the place was a handful of candy. The bonus I got from my current employer was actual money.

The executive Director and his team go up and above for staff and residents. Everyone is dedicated and genuinely care about the residents and go extra miles to keep everyone happy and safe. There are plenty of things for residents to do that are organized by activities department and the food is amazing. The Waterford has a great sense of family and belonging and I’m lucky to be part of the team.
