★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every dish of food and bowl of drink we had was made with care; the taste is definitely on par with the beautiful presentations.
I thought since Canmore was a small tourist town, I shouldn’t expect a lot from the food here. I am so wrong. This place has some of the best food I’ve ever had, even after being spoiled with the intense competition among the Asian restaurants in Toronto.
Even if the beautiful sceneries are not taken into account, the food alone here is definitely top notch.
The couple running the place is kind and friendly.
The price is not cheap understandably, because the ingredients are high quality and fresh.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The serene setting and friendly customer service, on top of the high quality food preparation and presentation make for a truly relaxing, enjoyable experience! Oh and the panoramic views don't hurt! We got the yakiniku beef and maple soy salmon bentos, genmaicha tea for 2, and 2 nerikiri (wagashi).
The bentos had a lovely assortment of fresh, pickled, and cooked vegetables. The salmon was tender and nicely blowtorched. The beef was cooked to a perfect rare. Our tea was served in two pours, one after a shorter steep and the second after a longer steep to taste the different strengths. The nerikiri were made by hand, super cute and not too sweet.
A great surprise find such a legit Japanese spot nestled in the Rockies during our trip to Alberta

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always loved going to the tea house in Canmore, inside the Garden Center. The food there is fresh, super clean, yet mouth watering. Who knew healthy food can taste so good?? There hasn’t been an item I don’t love. The bento boxes are excellent. The bread is like the ones you’d get in a fancy patisserie. The nerikiri? A delicate sweet that pairs so well with the green tea (not the same from the ones in Calgary). The owners are super friendly. It’s a “must try”! Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This cute little resturant in the garden centre really helps you stop, relax and enjoy the present! I went with my sister and I was thoroughly impressed at their service and the quality of their food! We ordered ice cream first and then kept ordering more and more food at 3 different times. The owner was so thoughtful, she let us know that she would bring us our ice cream after we ate our poke bowl and rice ball in order to enjoy each dish properly. She made sure to check up on us and she gave us to-go tea cups for our tea for 2 at the end (which we were not expecting). I really can't say enough as to how much I enjoyed our time at Wagashi Tea House. Will definitely go back for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such wonderful owners! We preordered the neikiri, got drinks, tried the food and icecream. A bit pricey, but nothing too crazy for Canmore. They also have a lot of serving ware, fresh fish, and japanese beer for take home.
Loved it, and will be back for brunch.
you MUST try the matcha soft serve and daifuku mochi.
