Very disappointing! Booked an assessment 3 months in advance. When our day arrived, we drove 45 km to get there only to be misinformed that we had missed our appointment by an hour---then told we would have to wait 4 months to return. We didn't miss our appointment at all---they double booked our time slot without telling us. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

We saw dr Markhan and she was incredible with my 2 yr old son. So very thorough. Worth the long wait to see her.

My Daughter started seeing Dr Chiarelli when she was only 2 years old (she is now 10), we have never had a negative experience at the Vision Institute. My Daughters vision has improved considerably under the incredible care of Dr Chiarelli!

DO NOT bring your children here!!!! Dr. Catherine A. Chiarelli is an unprofessional nitwit that made multiple mistakes with my daughter! This company was recommended to us, by a Pearl Vision in the Pickering Town Centre because my daughter was showing signs of needing glasses at just 3 years old. We took her in to see Dr. Catherine A. Chiarelli because she apparently "had extensive experience in the examination and management of children." Not the case! She was suppose to suggest patching for my daughter since the age of the 3, she admittedly told us at age 5 that we should start patching and that she should have told us at age 3, as it works better the earlier one starts. WHAT?! We were so shaken by this information, and made us second guess this Drs ability that we took her for a second opinion on her entire care. Luckily the prescription was right and the other Dr agreed patching is very necessary and should have been done right away at 3 years. Wow. We should have continued with this Dr but I was sure this woman knew what she was talking about since she is also the Director of Clinical Services for this company. When my daughter was 7 we went for our 2nd annual follow up and were told by a grad student taking patients that her prescription was changed in one eye. I didn't tell Dr Catherine A. Chiarelli when she came in the room and she checked and diagnosed her the same as before! I told her then what the grad student said and she checked again and then agreed with the student! Again..... what?!! Today was the last straw..... my daughter is now 8.5 and were scheduled for contacts that Dr. Catherine A. Chiarelli had recommended to us before, but my daughter did not seem ready. However, now she was really ready, excited actually, and with a big smile on her face Dr. Catherine A. Chiarelli seemed very happy to tell my 8 year old child that her appointment was not booked for a contact lenses appointment and there was nothing we could do today. I specifically told the girl at the front that we would like to make it a contact lenses appt when I called, also trying to get in sooner and placed on a waiting list and she said "yes, I will put you on a waiting list and make note of the contact lenses as she will need prior notice." Instead, we get this dumb smile expression from this woman who has messed around with my daughter's eyes for the past 6 years saying basically, I don't care that you just drove 45 min to come here...... you are SOL. She didn't even try to see if my daughter would be okay putting them in like we tried before..... Now, I have one very disappointed little girl and I am furious to say the least. I never trusted this broad from the get go. Complete idiot. Needs to go back to school.

I had a great experience with the Vision Institute. After dealing with regressing eyesight over the past several years, I was beyond excited to finally find a solution that would bring my vision back to 20/20. A special thanks to Dr. Alan Ng for his help and professionalism.

Unfortunately, they won’t see our most vulnerable of society as part of the job action taking place. I think it’s unethical or at least in poor taste to make the kids and the elderly suffer because you want more money.

My wife had a lot of issues with her vision and eye pain. Dr. Calder squeezed her into her schedule not once but twice . She spent several hours trying to help her and was very thorough. As well, the staff at the vision institute are very friendly and accommodating.

I got a letter from this clinic 3 months ago, I have contacted them and They confirmed my appointment and took my phone number, when we showed up they said they are definitely closing the clinic and they didn't know how to contact me. Please beware they have no idea how to deal with patients. They don't respect your time.
