Cynar Spritz · 5oz
Cynar (pronounced chee-nar) w/ our house bubbles & splash of soda served over ice. A good aperitif is lively, bitter & refreshing & this ticks all those boxes. Cynar is dark brown, has a bittersweet flavor. The taste is initially light & sugary & the finish is bitter, similar to a light espresso finish!

We came for a late lunch only to find out there was only a breakfast menu. I was a little disappointed. I always pictured this restaurant to be family friendly. I wish there was a children’s menu. The dollar pancakes were also missed. Colouring sheets and crayons would be a nice addition. The server was nice enough to accept a custom order for the kids. Overall our experience today was average.

Solid experience all around. Not pretentious, but good quality food in a comfortable atmosphere. The brunch is heavy on meats and carbs, but sometimes that's just what you're looking for. Love the breakfast potatoes and the chicken and waffles is absolutely worth it! Try it with the hot sauce ??

This is a lovely little diner with fast friendly staff, a decently varied menu and a pretty neat location. Their prices are good, especially for a citywide infamous diner, and the portions are AMAZING! My only qualm is, unfortunately, with their famous meatloaf; if you're not necessarily a meatloaf lover (like myself), then you might not enjoy some of their menu options. Their meatloaf is very well seasoned and has a very prominent taste that stands out from everything else that they serve (in a good way, in my opinion). It works well with some dishes, if it's the main ingredient (like with their 'Mom's Meatloaf' sandwich), but paired along with other ingredients in dishes like their 'Breakfast Burger', it can be very overwhelming. The 'Breakfast Burger' sandwich consists of: Ham, crispy bacon, meatloaf, fried egg, cheddar and roasted red pepper aioli. However, despite all of the lovely ingredients listed above, the only thing I found myself tasting was the meatloaf. It definitely wasn't a bad taste but, again, if you're not a big meatloaf lover, menu options with or starring their meatloaf probably won't be a great experience for you. That's honestly the only thing that kept me from rating this place five stars, because other than that, this really is an awesome joint to stop by for breakfast/brunch/lunch. I hope my review can help someone who's dropping by there for the first time!

My family went to experience the Sunday Brunch at Urban Diner and we were not disappointed! We ordered 2 of The Classic one with meatloaf and the other with bacon and the Back Bacon Benny. The meatloaf is scrumptiously delicious paired with the scrabbled eggs and the crunch of the potatoes..omg so yummy!!! Oh I can't forget about the homemade fruit jam to spread over the sourdough toast! Bursting with fruity flavors yum! BUT the Back Bacon Benny was made perfectly soft yolk bursting over the back bacon was so flavorful!! A must to visit again!!

Amazing downtown restaurant! I highly recommend their Huevos - definitely an in-house specialty! The food is always amazing and and incredibly fast! Well worth the drive into downtown.

Update: Urban Diner reached out to me on IG and let me know they do have a kids menu it is just not printed and the server forgot to offer it, so just ask for the kids menu and they will let you know what they offer. They posted a photo of their beef dip on their Instagram page and I had to try it. I get to their restaurant order the beef dip and something comes out that looks nothing like what they advertised. All fake marketing aside, the sandwich was pretty good, not the best beef dip I have ever had but definitely not the worst. The atmosphere wasn't great. Definitely has diner vibes but due for a bit of an update. The restaurant was clean though and very busy for a Wednesday afternoon (so they have to be doing something right). They do not have a kids menu, but my boy was good with me ordering a side of fries and a side of fruit. The server was great, not super chatty, but always made sure we were taken care. I don't know if I would be back for lunch or dinner, but being a diner I might have to come back and try their breakfast which they serve every day till 3PM.

Always get this place mixed with high level diner... Nevertheless... Located in a nice part of downtown Edmonton. Fair prices, decent, typical diner type food. The hash browns are pretty freaking scrumptious!
