Unique Accommodation is my rental property manager for my house in Vancouver West Side, and they helped find my tenants in 2014. I was quite satisfied with their services and the tenants during the first year, so I have renewed the lease agreement and their services since then. Unique acted diligently during the process of showing the house to prospectus tenants, and I was happy with the online advertisement and the updates they provided me during the process, such as sending me notices of the times/dates that they planned to show the house. They have a well-organized and friendly staff that so far has responded quickly and efficiently to any issues that has required maintenance & fixing of the house and appliances. They have a list of handymen and repairmen that respond quickly at reasonable costs without the need for my presence. When somethings needs to be fixed they contact me by email to ask if I have any preferences or specific requirements beforehand. Sometimes I am away from BC for several weeks/months and I have come to trust them to take care of the house in my absence. Since the start of my lease agreement they have inspected the house a few times to verify and make sure the inside is in good condition and nothing out of ordinary is happening which is very reassuring. In addition their accounting and invoices are very clear and transparent, and all of the rent payments have been paid on time. I was asked to share my experience with Unique Accommodation, and I must say so far I am very satisfied with their services and I would highly recommend them to both tenants and home owners.

We have been clients of Unique Accommodations for over 10 years, both as owners and as renters. I can't say enough good things about them. Unique has the contacts and reputation in the movie production and corporate market that have kept our unit rented almost without interruption. And the property management team has made sure that everything is cared for as if they were the owners. All in all, it's been a totally worry-free experience, topped off by some great sales, property management and administrative staff who are pleasure to work with. By far and away the best experience I have had trying to find a rental property. Numerous agencies don't pick up / return calls to the point I question there level of professionalism. Olivia and her team do a great job and I highly recommend there service.

A property manager needs to be able to listen and communicate, as well as be proactive, involved, current and knowledgeable. This is exactly what Chad Kalyn from Unique Accommodations possesses in spades. Chad is levelheaded, resourceful, personable and articulate. I have been both a landlord and a tenant through Unique Accommodations over the last 10 years. Fundamentally the most important trait for a good property management company is the ability to communicate and relate to people. Unique always responds to emails and phone calls in a timely manner and is great at problem solving if any issues come up with your tenants or your tenancy. They genuinely care about resolving issues as soon as possible. Property management is a fast-paced and highly competitive niche and Unique Accommodations, with its highly skilled people, are definitely a cut above the rest! I had the most incredible experience with Noah, the rental agent we had the pleasure of dealing with. She was unbelievably accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure we had the opportunity to view all of their available units with the limited time we had. She even worked late just to accommodate us, and dug up a few options we didn't find ourselves. The agents at the other property management companies were nowhere near as easy to work with as Noah. Ask for her, she's the best!

I am truly surprised and disappointed with unique accommodations. We are a family of 4 who were looking for a short term furnished rental due to a flood in our home. Unique Accommodations were recommended to me by a friend from work and I had full confidence we'd be taken care of. I went on their website and found a place near our home that was listed available immediately and with a 6mo minimum lease. I called the office to ask if they'd accept a shorter term and I was told they have a minimum 3month policy. Then I phone my insurance broker and asked if they'd approve that because our home restoration would last around 2months and they did. I was very excited this would work out and I contacted Unique Acc. to book the townhome. This is how I was handled: I was referred to another person who will be taking care of me. They were prompt in response and asked me a bunch of "pre approval" questions which I was ok with since I take pride in our family. An hour later I was contacted via email by another, senior agent who has denied our application via email without offering to find us something else. I phoned her and asked what seems to be the issue and she said the owner declined the 3mo rental plus they didn't want to approve it because we have a cat. In my original email I said we could place the cat with family if it was a problem and also i said we were told the 3month minimum is acceptable. So we wasted 2 hours not searching for another place thinking we'll get into this one. Naj, the senior agent, then started to tell me about being limited by the tenancy act and how they'll never be able to rent the place in January if they accept us now and so on... I happen to have been in the rental business and I am a home owner too so I am very familiar with the tenancy act and how it works. This was just a very poor service from Unique Accommodations and I am writing to express my disappointment with hope that they will offer a better service to the next family / person inquiring and looking to rent from them. PS oh and she also said she'd have to fire the poor front office guy who simply stated they have a 3month minimum policy...

Unique Accommodations have managed our rental suite in lower Lonsdale since 2008. In June of this year, after tenants had moved out, it was necessary to rehabilitate the flooring in the apartment. Unique organized the challenge, made the strata council application, contracted flooring specialists who installed hard wood flooring, and followed up with having the whole apartment painted. Unique accomplished this challenge all within one month so that the new clients could move in at the beginning of the next month. We were very pleased with the dedication and attention that the Unique team played on our behalf to complete the rehabilitation of the apartment and confirm new tenant entry all within one month.
