The tempura was old but I can tell was refried, it came with a thick teriyaki sauce to dip which I've never eaten tempura with this sauce. The actually teriyaki beef on rice wasn't teriyaki...some type of bland gravy. I've had great experiences at other Umi Sushi's but not this one. I wish I ate somewhere else.

So if you have a 9 year old wanting to try sushi for the first time this might be a good starting point for them. He says he wants to come back and try more of it.

G	Georgina Clark on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst sushi place in history. Employees that work there aren't one bit polite. I’ve come to this location 3 times. Every time there wasn’t fresh sushi in the display fridge. I asked them politely if they could make me some more. All three times I’ve been told no and given an excuse. Last time I was told I should have come an hour earlier. I ended up shaking my head at the man and walking away. I believe business like these shouldn’t survive. Not to mention I am trying to support them during these hard times. I wouldn’t recommend this sushi place to anyone.
B	Bre Danielle on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have ordered from them in the past and it was always great. Ordered today to go and the packaging is absolutely shameful. All food just dropped in a box and just put teriyaki dipping sauce all in the bottom so by the time you even get it, your food is soggy and disgusting. Also removed all pork items from their menu, definitely a shame. Disgraceful packaging even for to go.

I lived in Vancouver for a long time so I judge based on what Ive had in Vancouver. Tbh, not much has come close, as far as quality/quantity/portion ratio is concerned. But to be fair... Vancouver is a port city, so you would expect fresh decent fish at a decent price. There are some good sushi places in Calgary... But you will pay for it!!!
