R	Ryan Plato on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are in the neighbourhood, I would recommend stopping into this toy shop just to see how some people think is a reasonable way to interact with customers who are trying to spend money. You will be entertained more fully if you actually bring your child, and even more so if they touch anything.

If she had told me this when we were they wouldn’t have bought anything. The watch I bought batteries were dead, the lady told me I needed put batteries in it, but it turns out you can’t replace the batteries. The store is over crowded with junk, and unwelcoming. If you don’t like kids don’t run a toy store.
S	Shawn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This toy store is garbage and the owner is horrible. My wife spent $50 at this store, one of the items was an Abby Cadabby wristwatch, which doesn't work. We thought it had a pull tab to activate the battery but actually the battery is sealed inside the unit. Also she bought a small stuffed dog that is made to be colored on with included washable markers. When we opened them the markers were all dry and don't work. I phoned the store before bringing this stuff back because it's an hour drive from my home. The staff who answered the phone was useless and took my phone number but the owner never bothered to call me back. The toys I bought didn't work because they probably sat on the shelf for 10 years because this store sucks and nobody should go there.
R	RoRo Kana on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never shop here. I want to share a very negative experience I had at Toy Castle at the Quay, next to the ball pit. I was with my toddler who had picked up a few stuffed animals. He always picks toys up, and then I return them to the shelf when he turns around. The lady owner came up to me and orders us not to play with the toys because "no one will buy used toys". She went to grab the toy out of my sons hands. The price tag caught onto my sons hands and hurt him when the toy was yanked from him. She did not apologize. I was taken aback and yelled at her not to touch my child. What does she expect when she keeps soft animals at arms reach of toddlers? These weren't delicate, hard toys. This is the same lady who asked a handicapped child to leave the store and asked the caretaker to stop bringing in handicapped children into her store. Watch out for this owner!

Met owner of family business and Toy Castle should be your one stop shop for everything from newborn to adults and big kid adults like my family. Thanks for a wonderful business! I hung up and phoned the competitor at Play and Learn also at the Lonsdale Quay. A world of difference, the knowlegeable sales person answered my questions in a calm and friendly manner. Guess where I am going to spend my money today....?

Be prepared for narrow isles and toys stacked to the ceiling. That being said if you are looking for a specific board game or toy it’s probably here. I was looking for Sequence and this was the only place I found it. The owner was nice but somewhat indifferent. The prices are reasonable to somewhat expensive depending on what you are looking for. Since this store is in the Lonsdale Quay Market there are washroom facilities available.
