Thickson Road Pet Hospital

We got our puppy six months ago, and due to the timing have never been able to go in to the clinic ourselves. Considering all of our interactions have been over the phone and we've never been able to go in to help our pup feel comfortable, the staff here has done such an amazing job at thoroughly updating us and making our dog comfortable and at ease (she seems happy to see them!). From every form of shot/ vaccination, booster, nail cutting, blood test, and spay surgery, they've been very thorough and answered my many, many questions! Thank you to all the staff!

They're so friendly here! They definitely care about the animals they help. My cat is special needs, so he's seen a lot of vets. This is the best place I've taken him to, they're so helpful, caring, and gentle and he's really comfortable with them.

A really amazing veterinary team. The team here are absolutely amazing and this was the 3rd vet I’ve been with and they are by far the best. They are so great with treating the animals that this is one of the favourite places my little French bulldog loves to go.

Fantastic clinic, awesome ladies working at the front and good veterinarian doctors at the back. I have been to multiple vets in Oshawa and this office is by far the best. Prices are fair and reasonable, plenty of parking at the front and a petsmart right beside it. I have nothing but good experience here and will remain a client as long as they maintain their great service. Thank you for looking after my dogs!

I cannot say enough about Thickson Road Pet Hospital. The staff are wonderful and caring professionals, who support both patients and their owners. I have had some negative experiences at three other vet clinics in the area. At one, my previous dog was burned by their grooming team and the veterinarian said it was an allergic reaction to the shampoo. The multiple scabs on her back were clearly burn marks, and my dog refused to get out of the car at her next check-up. I switched vets, only to have my next vet blame myself and my family for my dog's weight gain. After repeated visits where we stated we did not overfeed her, the vet finally did a blood test. My dog had a thyroid problem and was put on medication. The thyroid problem caused the weight gain, not our feeding habits. Our concerns over my dog's frequent "bed-wetting" were also dismissed for several years, only to one day be told she should be put on estrogen. She was, and her "bed-wetting" stopped within a few days. So, I switched vets again. With my current dog, I started at a vet who made me feel guilty over my decision to spay my dog after she turned 1 year old. I chose to do this because my first dog had such problems with her urinary system, which I wanted to try to prevent. So, I switched to Thickson Road Pet Hospital, at the recommendation of a friend. This was the best decision I could have made. The vets and vet technicians are all knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They listen to your concerns and offer as many options as they can to meet your needs and budget, while putting your pet's health first. When I told the vet I was waiting to spay my dog until she was a year old, the vet listened to my reasons, explained about the possibility of increasing the chances of breast cancer, but understood when I made my decision. I had my dog spayed at Thickson Road Pet Hospital and she was safe, clean and cared for thoroughly. My dog has been seen there for an eye infection and a small gastrointestinal issue. Both were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The prices are reasonable and I find they are not as expensive as other vets I have been to. The vets and vet technicians answer all of your questions as best as they possibly can. If you want an excellent team to care for your cat or dog, I highly recommend you go to Thickson Road Pet Hospital.

As first time pet owners, we worry about every little thing. Having the staff at Thickson Road behind us from the beginning has really been a blessing. They are all so kind and helpful. A much deserved 5 stars

Honestly, I have been putting off writing a review because I don’t want this clinic to become so busy that I can’t get an appointment (I’ve had that happen elsewhere in the past). Since that is obviously quite selfish of me, I thought it time to share my experiences with this clinic. They have an absolutely wonderful and professional staff from start to finish. We’ve never had a single poor experience with any of them and we’ve been going there for about 5 years now. In fact, I could cite numerous examples of times they have gone above and beyond for us, and they have done so with a smile. Dr. Sherri is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring - both with our dogs and with us. When our dog got sick, Dr Sherry spoke to me about my dog’s diet almost weekly for months (she was 14 and in renal failure). She never once made me feel like I was bothering her and she always took my concerns very seriously, despite my dog’s advanced age and the impossibility of recovery. When we had to make “the decision”, they were caring and compassionate. Nothing can make that experience easy, but they definitely didn’t make it any harder than it needed to be. A little while later, they sent a card with their condolences, which we appreciated very much.

Always professional, always caring and always kind. Have been going there for 20 years for my dogs and cats. Never had a problem with them and I trust all the doctors, assistants and receptionists . They are a fantastic team!
