About Bonnie Doon Dental Clinic
Dr. Herbert Au attended the University of Alberta, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. Since then, he has been practicing at the Bonnie Doon Dental Clinic (for the past 19 years) as a general dentist. During this time, he has treated patients of all ages and needs. His goal is to treat patients with dental emergencies as soon as possible so they can be relieved from their discomfort and have their function restored. He is fluent in English and Cantonese.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had 2 wonderful experiences with this clinic. The staff is very helpful and kind and the doctor answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. I had a very large filling taken care of yesterday and the doctor was very gentle throughout the procedure. I arrived to my appointment early and was taken back to a room 15 minutes before my appointment! Everyone was efficient and I didn't have to wait at all! My tooth looks great and I have booked appointments for the rest of my family to go to this wonderful clinic!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do Not Go Here!!!! I got work done here last year. Had 6 cavities filled, and almost all of them have fallen out already. Also got x-rays done here, and the office wouldn't send out my x-rays to another dental clinic. They charge a lot. The front desk if rude and disorganized, and not helpful. The worst dentist office I've been to, and will not go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't ever go there. You pay for the X-rays, and they will not give them to you! Unless you pay even more... If you want to see a specialist of your choice (not one of their business partners) they will refuse to you give you the X-rays you have paid for. They will charge you to release those seized X-ray pictures because it is their policy. Do you have your whole family seeing them, and you may take them all elsewhere? They will not care! They prefer to lose thousands of dollars of potential repeat revenue, by letting their customers go elsewhere. This, because it is their policy to charge you $20 or so to release the X-rays!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know why they don't have better reviews, I switched to this dentist a few years ago. I've only had good experiences over my 4 visits. Today I had Carrie clean my teeth, she was very personable, and efficient. Dr. Quon looked into an issue I'm having with a tooth and he was very thorough, even though I have pain, he suggested that I give it more time rather than pushing me to do work I may not need. I appreciate that. The front desk staff have always been great, Tina got me in today and she was very friendly. The whole experience was as good as it gets when going to the dentist. Price was quite reasonable considering I don't have insurance. I've had the another dentist who works there as well but he's on sick leave, he was always very fast, but good. Will be going back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm surprised at the mixed nature of the reviews. I went first time last Friday for an emergency visit. They got me sorted quickly and provided some good advice for moving forwards.
Today I returned for the start of some longer dental work (I have very bad teeth!). Got three fillings done, two of which were 5-surface. The whole process took no more than 45 minutes. During that time, Dr. Au and the hygienist (sorry, I didn't catch her name!) were wonderful. They made a good, efficient team.
I have basically whole new teeth in my mouth! Amazing stuff. :)
I also had no problem with the front desk staff on either visit, not sure why that recurs in the negative reviews. Maybe different staff? I dunno. Regardless, everyone was delightful. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked an appointment here today and came 10 minutes early like they asked. When I showed up I was turned away from the door and told I missed the confirmation call and will not be allowed to get my dental work done today. I am a full time student and also work full time and don’t have time to reschedule often, I was on time and was told that my appointment was cancelled. The day or time of the phone call to confirm my appointment was not stated. I took the bus for over 45 minutes when it was the coldest day this year -34 as I showed up before the mall was even open. I am now told I have to leave without any dental work. Never going back here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am very very very disappointment in the service at this dental clinic. I have been coming here for years spending thousands of dollars; never a problem for pay as they are meticulous about making sure you have money before you come; Im always about 30 minutes early and this morning the 6th of June 2021 i had a 10 am appointment. i got up showered brushed my teeth washed my hair and got here 30 minutes before my appointment. young lady at the desk was on the phone, told me to have a sit. I noticed the entire office was so dark and asked if they were opening today because yesterday when i called i was told opening at 9 am. she said yes 10 am. then she proceeded to tell me that my appointment was CANCELLED because the hygienist had a family emergency. OK; Well can someone else stepup and perform the service? I am already here ON TIME. I was told sorry.. I am very disappointed and is contemplating if i should return to this place at all. They did not go the extra mile to try and accommodate me; a continued returning customer always on time and never had a problem with payments. I am extremely disappointed :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in there on June 20th and got my teeth clean by a wonderful lady, Mary Grace thank you so much for the great job on my teeth, best cleaning I think I've ever had. Great job give her a raise! lol thank you. Really don't understand the bad reviews I just had another appointment me and my daughter and they do a great job, luckily I got Mary grace again I guess, I'd give them another 5 stars if I could.
