The UPS Store - Calgary

I highly do not recommend shipping out your items at the Calgary Airport unless you are prepared to pay an arm and a leg to have things shipped. What's sad is that there are/will be a lot of unsuspecting people who won't read this review and will use this service because of the limited options available. Backstory: I had to use this shipping service to send a couple of food items while I was at the security line at the Calgary Airport. Unfortunately, I was unable to bring them on the plane with me since they qualified as a "Paste". So I had the option of forfeiting the items, checking them in, or shipping them out. I decided to ship them because, the items were neither big nor heavy (under 3lbs) and I work at an office and ship items out all the time, I generally have an idea over how much a parcel should cost. There was a form I had to fill out with my credit card information, contact information, etc. and placed it with my items in a zip lock bag and into a bin. They gave options on the form to circle the type of service and minimum price charges. I picked the cheapest option, which is usually Canada post, ground, with no tracking, which based on my experience I shouldn't cost more than $25 tops. Anyways, fast forward a few weeks. I get a charge on my credit card for $75 all for that 3lbs package. Mind you, it wasn't even a expedited service. I had to wait WEEKS for my package to arrive. They charged for services and handling fees that was so unnecessary. What was concerning was that they can charge whatever they want without your knowledge or your consent. They don't call you to verify charges. You are literally leaving them with you credit card information and giving them full authorization to use it. I was very upset and complained, and didn't get very far since it is a franchised store and apparently they can do whatever the heck they want. Its messed up.

Dropped my package here on a Sunday. Located inside the airport. Access is via gate 7 on the second floor (Departures).

Although both Google and the UPS website list this location as open on Sundays from 9am-4pm, I drove all the way to the airport to mail something at 1PM and it's completely closed. Edit: Prior to visiting in person, we tried to check everything we could think of to confirm opening hours. We called the location but no response or voice recording for updated store hours, checked the UPS website, even checked Google reviews. They just closed their location without announcing it anywhere and let people find out when going in person.

Went to the airport UPS store to mail something (via Canada Post) prior to an early Monday morning flight. The envelope wasn't received by Canada Post until that FRIDAY.
