This shop has always been one of my favourites but they have officially went above & beyond for me. I am currently isolating & needed a gift put together by a specific date (within my isolation time). I messaged the plant shelf to see if they could help me out & they didn't disappoint! They were quick to respond, sent any pictures of products I wanted to see, sent me an invoice & let me e-transfer for payment so that everything went as smoothly for the person picking up as it could be. Placed my order online which was at the front door in a very cute bag. I am very happy to be adding String of pearls, and string of hearts to my plant addiction! I will be back for sure again to check out the store alittle more than I did this time I’m so happy we have these types of plants right here in Kingston. I differently will be spreading the word to my all my plant friends and recommended anyone to buy gifts here very cute store!

The Plant Shelf has some of the coolest looking plants in Kingston. Polka dot patterns, gappy leaves, crazy shades, you name it. The selection is amazing and is always evolving. Pickup is quick and online ordering is very convenient. Great service by the staff which is always helpful when I have any questions about growing my plants. My go to place for plants in Kingston.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Yesterday for my birthday, I bought a 3" peace lily for $15 at this place for the first time. They placed the tropical in one bag and put a few staples at the top of the bag and I walked 10 minutes away to my home (it was -8 degrees outside that afternoon). Later that night I started to notice a multitude of small black spots/dots developing on the leaves and flowers. I cut off spotted leaves and they just kept developing on new ones. The next day, I went to exchange the plant for another one and they claimed it was cold shock and that they don't exchange/return for this issue. They said it was too cold and wrap the plants thinking you're just going to your car parked in the parking lot 3 minutes down the street. NOTE TO THE OWNER... if you don't return/exchange due to "cold shock" because tropicals can't get cold, maybe wrap flowers according to the weather. Never going back again and I advise anyone reading this to just get their plants from a grocery store... you can get 4" peace lilies and other tropicals for $7 at loblaws and still get better service there lol (they'd actually let you return/exchange a damaged product there) Edit after reading response from owner: Very taken back by the response from the store owner. To clarify, according to google maps, it is specifically an 11 minute walk. I think your response is very unprofessional and I'm taken back that I've been accused of lying about how far the walk was, which is irrelevant. I gave a thorough review and left out no details so that the entire situation was clear and not bias to readers. You mention how leaving a negative review is detrimental to a small business but my review stands as is. I came back today with a new pot so that I would be able to exchange the peace lily and purchase a new plant for my house but did not expect the situation to go the way it did- which resulted in a lost customer. And yes, I've worked in a floral shop for 7 years now and was only giving the tip to wrap appropriately for the weather so this issue doesn't occur for anyone else again. Spending money on appropriate wrapping for plants in the winter is a must if people are paying $15 for a small plant. **I've also attached a photo of what the plant looked like. I ended up cutting these leaves off but the spots kept appearing all over other leaves as hours passed last night and earlier this morning before I went back to the shop.

Amazing customer service, space is well designed, bright, and the plants are lush and healthy! My favorite part is that for rarer/more expensive plants, they offer small discounted cuttings to start growing on your own from scratch. I also appreciate their level of expertise, and how they are not afraid to tell you if a plant isn't going to work in your space based on light, temperature, etc. Very grateful to have them in the village to make my day a little brighter and greener!
