The Mayfair on Jasper - Edmonton

After living at 360 Hoffman St for almost two years, we have had nothing but good experiences. The Superintendent Amy makes sure the building looks great and helps solve any issues that we have. Everyone in the building is nice and seem to get along great. It was a blast when the units are being upgraded, we could all stand in the hall to chat and laugh with one another.

We have no plans to move anytime soon. Great place, great people.

I moved to the Mayfair on Jasper a little over a month ago, and so far the experience has been really good because of the team that works here. Emma has done a wonderful job helping with any questions and making sure we have a good experience. Ian and Derek (concierge and maintenance) have also been incredibly helpful and friendly, I appreciate how they all go the extra mile to help. This team really makes an effort to create a true community and it shows. About the apartments, some are but they have lots of storage (and I'd like it even more if they had extra storage to rent). I love the open kitchen, the appliances are great quality and the dog park is a great feature. It's a very safe and well-maintained building. If my opinion ever changes I'll update my review but so far they're really great!

Positives: -- Apparently much improvement since Centurion took over from Procura. -- Great location; -- Nice clean newer building which employs great cleaning team; -- In-suite laundry; -- Nice kitchens with island; -- Ample storage; -- Maintenance (Derek) is very efficient and professional where tenants submit tickets online for maintenance issues, or call in case of emergency; automated system does follow-up to see if issue was resolved; -- Beautiful flooring (no carpet in suites--yay!); -- Transit (both bus & LRT) outside door; -- Grocery store is kitty-korner; -- Professional concierge (Ian) looks after delivered packages so that they are not lost or stolen and will text you when you have a delivery (other nearby buildings merely have cameras that might not be well monitored); -- Onsite office staff (Jasmine, etc.) are professional and quick in their responses; -- There are many accurate pics of great amenities and of the beautiful suites on the website. Negatives: -- Sometimes issues with no/lax onsite security, but it's a phone call away; -- 2 elevators (one of which is the move-in/out elevator) are not enough for 10-storey building with 25+ suites per floor; -- Loading zone at front entrance shares the bus stop; great for transit, not so great for delivery drivers who complain about lack of parking, eg. when having pizza delivered, very good idea to meet delivery person downstairs in lobby as busy elevator(s) lock down 1 minute after you buzz delivery person in, plus reception for interact payment in hallways is not good - many delivery drivers complain about these issues; -- Apts are on the expensive side; -- Small Juliet balconies unless you rent a lower floor suite which has a patio; -- No air-conditioning, so suites get hot in summer and opening a window is very noisy, even late at night - expected reality of living on Jasper Avenue; -- This might be a positive for some - entire building is non-smoking, even balconies and patios, so no enjoying that sweet cigarillo by moonlight on a warm summer night (some people do so anyway); -- You *must* choose Telus as your internet provider as Mayfair has an exclusive contract with them, so no choice of Shaw Cable, etc.---Note: A great solution is to ensure you have Telus internet installed as "wired," and you'll have far less problems; wireless internet frequently cuts out and is slow. Summary: Excellent location and great people working here.

I have lived here for going on 5 years and just renewed. My dog loves the dog park and the treats he gets when Ian the concierge hands them out at his desk. Great location and I canโ€™t say enough about the staff, they are amazing and I always feel welcomed home.

I want to shout out the good people at The Mayfair for their consistent accommodations and flexibility since I began looking for a place to live in Edmonton last summer. Moving from the US to start a new job in Canada was tricky enough with the border closure (due to covid), but finding a place to live was shaping up to be tricky, as my work contract only covered nine months. Every other apartment I contacted offered six or twelve month leases, no other options. The folks at The Mayfair - first Emma, then Jasmine - said it was no problem and worked with me every step of the way. The whole process was very easy. Knowing that housing was one thing I did not have to stress over while moving across the country was a huge relief. Even now, as I am in limbo waiting to hear if my contract will extend or not, Jasmine has continued to work with me, and it has been absolutely amazing. I also have to shoutout Ian, who is a true delight. Stopping to catch a quick chat with him on the way in and out of the building really elevates the whole day. He will help any time someone needs a hand, and he keeps an eye on any packages that arrive at the building. All the folks at The Mayfair are so kind; Derek responded to a maintenance issue within a few hours after I put in a request, and he always says hello whenever I run into him. The office also gives out gifts to the residents to celebrate certain holidays. It's a great spot, and the location can't get any better (literally right next to the LRT, with a grocery and pharmacy across the street). There is a small, but handy fitness center in the building, and I have really appreciated how they have kept it open during covid restrictions through an appointment system, allowing people to book and use the space one at a time. One last thing - not only is this place pet-friendly, but they actively celebrate the animals who live in the building. There is a wall with pictures of all the residents' pets, and the third-floor dog park is a major convenience. Overall, this spot is great, and I am glad to have spent my time in Edmonton living here!

1 Living environment -The facilities here are very perfect. The two door locks of lobby are very safe. -In addition, the service is also very considerate. Office will collect express and express cabinets. Online shopping is very convenient. There is also a special dogpark dog walking. 2 Residential location -This is definitely the best position! There is almost no need to walk outdoors when entering the subway station directly from the side door; Close to save on food and Rexall, there are many restaurants downstairs to choose from. 3 Finally, I would like to thank Claudia Fernandez, who is really a very warm, careful and responsible advisor.

I lived here for almost a year now and it has been awesome so far. The location is great and convenient with many different restaurants nearby, a grocery store across the street, and an LRT station just steps away. Jasmine, Emma, Claudia and Ian are all very friendly. Massive props to Jasmine though for being super helpful during the move in process as well as the renewal process. All in all it has been great.

The Centurion team are helpful, accommodating, and honestly super great. They are definitely the best rental company i've ever dealt with. The units are nice but cheaply made/not very thought out. (One cupboard doesnt open all the way due to handle position, I had a lot of things break too) There isn't much for storage space. I've had my heat off for many weeks during winter and it is still very hot in my suite. There is an occasional nasty sewer smell that had occurred every few months. I was aware this was a dog friendly building, but dang, one dog in a suite above mine barks/howls all day & all night. Very loud traffic (expected, as it's downtown) Fire alarms go off late at night every few months or so. It is difficult to have guests over, or get food delivery. The parkade/parking and elevator can be confusing for them. THE POWER BILL has been EXTREMELY high in the summer, to a point of almost double the average. (Carma Billing Services) I wish I knew before renting. I have a 1 bedroom corner unit and am paying almost $1700/month by myself. The fitness room is small but has everything you need. But honestly if you have the budget and aren't too picky, it's not too bad of a place.

I lived at the Mayfair for 9 months, from Sept 2020 to May 2021. This review is admittedly long overdue! There were certainly some inconveniences during that time due to building issues and staff turnover, but nothing major in the grand scheme of things. Once the current management team of Jasmine, Emma, and Ian got settled in, the quality of life in the building vastly improved. They are an excellent customer service and property management team! The building is in a great location and is quite secure. Overall, if it is in your price range and the location is a significant factor, I would recommend it. Some notable downsides are: the cost of parking is quite high (though for downtown it is nothing special), the bathrooms do not have fans, the blinds are not fully opaque, some units (ours included) have experienced issues with the heating system making loud noises, and there is no visitor parking. All things considered, these are things you should be aware of, but none had major impacts on my quality of life at the Mayfair. I did not have a car, and relied mainly on the LRT for transport. In our unit type, we were able to keep the bedroom adequately dark despite the roller shades allowing light through. The lack of fan in the bathroom was an inconvenience, but I wouldn't say it's a deal-breaker. The heating system was annoying, but when it did act up you could simply turn it off overnight without much worry of the unit cooling down too much. Overall, the only reason I don't still live at the Mayfair is that I found something more within my price range that met my needs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the building, and I would confidently say the management team is incredible.
