The Carrington is a nice place to live, however, the onsite staff makes you feel like crap for asking for anything that is related to issues with the suite. moved in July, there was few items missing in the suite, most importantly a window screen. it took over a month and a half of me asking for it to even get one installed. the place was steaming hot in the summer. felt like the heat was stuck on. when asked for them to fix it, the answer was "it's fine" now that the weather got cold, the HEAT IS NOT WORKING! again when called for it to be fixed, the maintenance guy came down all annoyed saying its not an emergency and that its working... i had the heat set to 30 for 2 days and still no heat in the place.. his answer is to bring me a portable heater which I have to plug to electric and pay for the power!!!?? complaint sent to head office for the poor service and no heat situation. ( keep in mind the price for these suites includes heat) also the on site staff, works minimal hours and the office is always closed

I made an appointment to view a one bedroom with Janet Mendez the property manager. She was very polite on the phone, took her time answering my questions, and arranged for a viewing. When I arrived for the viewing I had the most odd experience. She didn't greet me, she charged ahead and I just followed her out of confusion. She was already around the corner before I got through the building entrance. She rushed the whole viewing, told me nothing about the place, didn't offer me an application, and said bye. The whole experience from hello to goodbye lasted exactly 4 mins! I know this because I looked at my phone to see the time I called her to let her know that I arrived. That 4 mins includes me standing in her office for a few moments stunned with Janet's back to me. It was ridiculous and I would never want to live in a building with this level of unprecedented unprofessional-ism in their management. I got the feeling she really want to rent to me. Perhaps Carrington should put up a sign for what types of people they don't want in the building so that we can all save each other these uncomfortable exchanges.

The Carrington is a horrible place to live. Very hot in summer and freezing in winter. Scary to come home to know that someone has been in your suite all the time! Managers came in when there was a flood, but never cleaned their mess!!! They tried to fix the washer/dryer and used my vacuum after and broke my vacuum with oil/grease stuck in my brand new vacuum!!! Disgusting place made me pay for all the damage that they did themselves!!! Would not recommend.

I've lived in the building for 2 1/2 years now and have not experienced the rude, or unwelcoming feeling anyone has gotten from the building staff. I have had a few problems since moving in(hole in garbage disposal pluming, leaking sink tap, microwave stopped working and needing my bbq hooked up) but they took care of all of them quite quick and without complaint. They let you know when they are coming and are quick and tidy. My Microwave was replaced within 3 days. Janet always made me feel welcome and comfortable here and was always quick to respond to my emails and questions when first moving in and still now. The suites are quite large(renting a 2bdrm 2bathroom) and the layout is convenient. In suite washer and dryer and in floor heating in a near central downtown apartment for this price in pretty unheard of. The flooring(older carpet) could use some updating. It would also be nice if the rooftop terrace was open but was informed its been closed for 5 years. However I hear people up there everyday nearly as I live right under its locale. If you're looking for a nice quiet and cozy place to call home every night I really recommend The Carrington.

This is my third apartment downtown and by far the best experience I've had to date. I was slightly concerned when I first read the reviews here before moving in, which is why I wanted to write this review as someone currently living at The Carrington. I'll first say I agree with basically everything Ericka Dixon posted in her review. I don't personally know her, but she said a lot of how I feel, especially the note on it being a cozy place. I honestly didn't think you could get that feeling in an apartment building, especially one in the heart of downtown. Janet and the rest of the staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful to my girlfriend and I while we have lived here. We even needed dishwasher repairs at some point shortly after we moved in and those were completely resolved and taken care of within a day or two. It's also very quiet in our suite, we basically never hear any of the neighbours. It is worth noting we are on the top floor so there's no chance of having noisy neighbours above though. So far I am really happy with our choice to move here, it's been great not dealing with the plethora of problems I've faced previously at other apartments... especially during winter months.

If your aim is to live downtown, The Carrington was comfortable enough to live in I guess, but it’s not a building without flaws with both suits and management. For one, the summers are very hot and unless you have a corner unit or air conditioner, one could argue the summers are outright unbareable. The suits feel like high-heat saunas, the layout of the bedrooms don’t allow air to really come in from outside to outset the heat, and even a standing fan isn’t much help. As far as bang for your buck, you’re always going to overpay to live downtown. The building doesn’t have any real amenities, as there isn’t a workout area, pool, or rec room. What you get is your room, in-suit laundry and heated underground parking for extra. You’re mainly paying for location beyond that. For the area the price was fine, but for what you’re actually getting out of the building, you can find better value in a similar building in a different area outside of downtown. Lastly but not least, the management. Personally, I found my experience with them to be bare minimum, and at other times outright rude. The experience was fine upon first view of the place, but once you’re actually leasing from them, you as a tenant are quickly forgotten unless they need something from you. Service/maintenance calls went unheard or usually delayed, management would need to be contacted several times if there were any issues, and the main woman heading the building management was pretty condescending, unhelpful, fake and not much of a people person. So to summarize: the building gets very hot, there are no amenities, management is okay on their best days, and you’re overpaying for what you get simply based on location.

My family and I spent almost three years at The Carrington. We loved the location. We loved the management specifically Judith, she is friendly, professional and goes the distance to make sure any issues going will be dealt with accordingly within a reasonable time. Some of these recent reviews are false when describing the management, they are top notch. The Carrington condo are your standard condos, but they do the job. My family loved it, the prices for the rent are even good. Everything is walking distance! To sum up my experience at The Carrington ! Lovely, Easy-Going, Professional and would recommend it to anyone.
