Tara Place Apartments

Thefts, people making noise at all hours, only certain cameras are being turned on in different locations of the building, people who don't live in the building having keys and coming in and out, and the fact that they were able to release me from my lease without any fees after 7 months. Questionable and suspicious for sure. Would not recommend this as a safe place.

Viewed a bachelor apartment here which looked great (including compact kitchen, balcony, spacious storage closet). Property manager Jess Lindsay was super informative and helpful.

Standard apartments, nothing special. Staff was very nice and answered questions. Definitely expensive for what you get, but that's Victoria for ya. There was a lot of construction going on around the building, but you couldn't hear it inside the building which is a plus. Parking increased from the $75 is said on the website to $90 per month.

Absolutely unable to get basic maintenance completed and to meet minimum landlord requirements. This whole ordeal started in October when a water stain appeared on the ceiling of my partner’s apartment due to a leak in the unit above. Tara Place management had the leak fixed but failed to fix the stain on the ceiling in the living room, and left a gaping hole where they removed ceiling material in the bathroom. Management dismissed her requests for maintenance several times until I got involved and showed documented evidence of their failure to complete their duty. They then cut more holes in the ceiling (see pictures) and left it in an unacceptable state for months. After several more respectful in person and email requests for corrective action, a very nice manager from headquarters promised to get the issue resolved and apologized profusely for what had happened, admitting that it was entirely unacceptable. The result of that rework is the first two pictures shown - still a very visible water stain, and Tara Place claims the job is done. At each step along the way, maintenance workers left the apartment in a complete state of disarray with debris spread everywhere and drywall mud smeared on the walls and counter which we had to clean up. It is now 6 months since the stain first appeared and the ceiling looks almost as bad as it did when this issue began. Did I mention rent just increased? Would not recommend considering living here.

Great apartment building, up to date, clean and always feel appreciated by my amazing landlord Jess. She is a real peach, great communication and anyone would be lucky to have her as a property manager.

I've dealt with the new manager, Jess Lindsay on several occasions and she has been extremely professional, friendly and always responds to my concerns in a timely manner. With all my dealings with Tara Place Apartments, dealing with Jess Lindsay has confirmed I made a wise choice staying with this management company.

Wow am I happy to be living here. I’ve dealt with few of the management and it has been smooth. I especially appreciate the above and beyond help that Jess has given me. Stu has been great to communicate with, as well. All in all would recommend renting here

I moved into Tara Place 12 months ago, I struggled with getting things done as promised in the beginning of my lease. As you can see from older reviews, management was struggling. Jess, the new manager is professional and experienced. Even before she was the manager she was so great to deal with. She knows how to deal with people and sets appropriate expectations. Ever since she arrived the whole vibe of the building has been shifting. Things are completed as agreed and all the apartments are being beautifully updated. This is an older concrete building and yet it does not feel old. The updates are crisp and clean and being concrete, it is quiet! I have never had to worry about getting into the laundry room or even forgetting my stuff there. The building feels safe and secure, the elevators are reliable and the hallways don't smell. I work from my computer so I am home most of the time. I will continue living here for at least another year as it is walking distance to everything I need downtown.
