Dr. Elizabeth Maloney was born in California, but spent most of her childhood in Calgary, Alberta where she grew up surrounded by animals. After moving to Ontario, Liz completed her Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Sciences at the University of Guelph. She then completed a 1-year Master's degree in equine reproduction prior to starting her DVM at the Ontario Veterinary College. During her time at the OVC, Liz worked in multiple departments of the referral hospital, and received her DVM degree in the spring of 2020. Since graduating, Liz has been gaining experience working with all kinds of animals, and is now focusing on small animal medicine. Some of her special interests include multimodal pain management, radiology, and rehabilitation! Liz is a pawrent to one (very) high energy rescue dog named Chilly, and a sassy calico cat named Cali. In her spare time Liz enjoys horseback riding and exploring the mountains with her pup!

To whom it may concern.. let’s start with not able to book an appointment time and communicate it effectively. As we showed up at our thought to be appointment 5 mins late as we checked in our dog (who has been told has a torn acl) the vet tech said we were 20 mins late upon checking in with the surgery specialist. Who turned us away.We had been waiting for this appointment for sometime now to determine the direction of our dogs status of needing surgery. We were turned away without exception or accommodation to furthermore help out our dog. We drove from Beaumont to spruce to be re booked in 2 weeks from now. The vet refused to see us for the reason of missing a 15 min appointment window which in turn wasn’t our fault to begin with. Said she was busy with another person at 130.. so a 15 min window of assessing a dog that may need surgery. What a lack of empathy and furthermore an ignorant response to turning us away for the sake of what we thought was only 5 mins late for our “booked” appointment. We even offered to stay until a spot opened to take a look and the refusal and lack of effort were astounding. Highly unimpressed..

I came to this vet all my dogs life and couldn’t scream their praises loud enough… until the change of management. We had emergency’s in the past that needed immediate care and they would always get us in, not anymore! We had an emergency about a month ago which did take my dogs life and they couldn’t have cared less to get him in or offer any sort of alternative plan. It was horrible to have to go somewhere else which was unfamiliar for my dear boy to get help. This would never have happened when Dr Stretch was still there, the staff now seem uncaring and unwilling to help. Highly recommend finding a vets office who cares and would be able to offer assistance in emergency situations (like they used to). Our new vet seems quite good so far (we have other animals) and would be willing to help in emergency situations and have happy employees, they also mentioned they have been receiving clients from spruce grove vet clinic cause of how unhappy they’ve been since the management change…we are now some of those clients and will never be back or recommend!!!!! I only gave two stars instead of one for all the previous years of amazing service which no longer exists! So sad!

Been taking my dogs there for years. The staff are always pleasant and is a nice clean atmosphere. Their prices are great and a lot cheaper than the city, sometimes they feel bad about what they have to charge you. Highly recommend Spruce Grove vet.

I just moved to Spruce Grove and chose this vet clinic, I’m absolutely thrilled with my decision. They are so kind and if anything is wrong they do their best to see you right away. My cats are in great hands here!

We had to utilize their end of life services. Although it was a very hard emotional day they were extremely Accommodating and make sure the whole family got to be together and say goodbye on our own. They handled the delicate situation perfectly for having my toddler there I was very impressed.

Dr. Elliot and the staff are beyond amazing. I've been taking my dog and cats there for 9 years and have always had nothing but the best service. They were beyond supportive when I had to unexpectedly put our cat down. They treat my Zeus like a King and have given me so much support in dealing with his diagnosis. I really love that Dr. Elliot actually listens to my concerns and answers all my questions in ways that I understand. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at the clinic.

I had been going to this vet for years but in the last year or so things feel like they have changed there. The front office staff is usually pleasant but the vet I saw for the first time as apparently the ones I’ve previously seen are gone, so I figured the others were good, let’s give this one a try! Sadly I wasn’t happy with the service with this vet specifically. She seemed scared of dogs and insisted on muzzling my corgi… he’s never been muzzled before and I told her he will be fine if I hold and she does the shots. Nope she was too scared of, a corgi I may add, to try without a muzzle. So I let her try and of course my dog loses it and tries to strangle himself with the muzzle. So I ask again can we just do how I said, given he’s my dog, I know him and we’ve come here for years and you are the first to try and muzzle him. Sure enough 2 minutes later after doing what I said, we were done. But this leads me to my sole complaint. I paid for an exam that didn’t occur because she was scared of a corgi (claimed one but her a week prior). If you are a vet, you should not be associating 1 breed to aggression as you now will not give the proper level of care since your scared… regardless, this was fairly minor but I left with a bad taste in my mouth. Yesterday I called with a very sick cat and they could not get me in, although symptoms indicated cat is very very I’ll. I’ve had them squeeze me in during the day with “emergency” situations before. Which is why I say it seems things have changed. Maybe new management or new vets or something but my experiences in the last 3 months have been enough to sour my good experiences in the last 10 years.

We have used Dr Stretch for over 35years so we were very concerned and anxious about having to find a replacement vet since Dr Stretch retired. A friend recommended Dr Elliot and since January we have already taken 3 of our animals to see her.We feel very confident in her skills as a vet and as an owner. We did have an issue that we spoke to her about and she was very receptive and had it resolved. The front end staff and vet techs we have dealt with have also been friendly and helpful. We are very happy that we could continue our relationship with Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy vet.
