After many years of being a client I am still thankful for Bayview Hill Animal Hospital. Their professionalism and expertise are consistent and all work is done thoroughly and in a timely manner. Me and my pets are in good hands.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET TO ANYONE. They are NOT THOROUGH with their testing, OVER CHARGE for testing, DO NOT LISTEN/INVALIDATE concerns, and the only one who suffers is the animals. I am DISGUSTED. DO BETTER.

This is a top notch facility in York Region for animal care. in fact, No. 1. We have been taking our cats to this location for 14 years and they receive superb attention and care. Staff treat them like family. Dr. Shelley Sherkey, the owner and a very reputable veterinarian, is one of the most honest individuals I have met. Always available for conversations, and takes as much time as needed to deal with issues. He takes professionalism to an all-star level and is committed to clear and concise communication. His skills have been superb. Highly recommend Bayview Hill Animal Hospital!

I have been coming here for years. The Vets are extremely nice and very easy going on my Cat. Would recommend to anyone!

I have paid over 800 CAD for an appointment for two cats. They are both relatively healthy and was only there for an annual check up. After asking my cat's foster mom who has raised over 100 rescues with various medical conditions, I have learned that this is way overpriced as your average vet check up should not cost over 90 CAD. This would have made me uncomfortable enough, but I was also told that the vaccinations that they gave the cats were not necessary and in fact exposed the cats to danger because they gave one of them two injections on the same day. This information made me feel like an incompetent cat guardian as I agreed to them all assuming that more is better and that the vet would not recommend something harmful. In addition to overpricing the appointment, they also tried to further scam me by recommending a dental cleaning for both cats. This procedure is really pricey at around 1000 CAD, but the main problem I had was that it would require the cats to be under anesthesia which could be dangerous even if it is handled correctly. I think that it was ridiculous of them to suggest this as neither of my cats act like they are in pain and when I checked their teeth it looked fine to me. I have also later learnt that the dental conditions that they were diagnosed with, gingivitis and stomatitis, could just be solved with a better brushing regime. They also tried to make me come back for booster shots which would have been an additional cost and risk as well. I am glad that I have come back to my senses after this appointment, but 800 CAD is still quite a lot for a university student to pay. I still could not get over the fact that I coughed up my entire summer's savings in hopes of getting my cats the best treatment possible but exposed them to danger instead. This really hit me as Bayview Hills Animal Hospital was not a vet clinic that I just found online. I have worked with them during my high school co-op days, knew the staff, and was under the impression that they were reliable and kind people. I saw some similar complaints on this website, but decided to ignore them because I thought I knew the staff better than they did. I guess I was wrong. I know that the vet clinic probably has counter-arguments for all my suspicions, but it would not change the fact that I feel disrespected and betrayed. They must be under the impression that I have a lot of money since I agree to all these procedures but that is not true. I am just a university student with no formal job and I basically spent all my savings for my cats because I thought that they were getting the best healthcare.

Love it here, my pets have been coming here for 20+ years. The vets really care about your family pets and people. On-site grooming for cats and dogs, groomer is really nice and does a great job .

My two dogs Meelo & Cheeko have been patient here for almost 3 years the staff is always so kind & professional so good to my dogs the boys love Rebecca she always does the best grooming I have seen my Meelo gives a hard time to most groomers but is so good with her the bayview hill animal app is the best part because it lets you know about upcoming appointments and proscription are ready

Our Dog, Sam, had been going to Bayview Hill Animal hospital for over 14 yrs. Thanks to Dr Sherkey and his staff for always being so professional and reliable as we always felt comfortable bringing our dog here. Sadly we had to put him down last week and Dr Sherkey and his staff were amazing during this very difficult process. Thank You again. The Pacione Family
