The "security guard" that the building hired catcalls women and makes them feel unsafe. A friend and I were walking by this building on July 28th at 9PM and walked past the security guard. After we passed, a tenant approached the guard and began to speak to him. The security guard said to the tenant during the conversation; "I was watching those hot girls walk by and then saw you". He said it purposefully loud enough so we could hear, and it made us both feel really unsafe, uncomfortable, and grossed out. If you are a woman who is a tenant or simply walking by, I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing he is the person who is supposed to be hired to keep the building safe.

I've been living at Southpark on Whyte for a bit over 3 months now and my experience has been a wonderful one. First, the location is ideal - walking distance to everything and the river valley is a 10 minute walk away which makes for lovely quiet nature walks. Second, the amenities are great - their newest amenity is a pop-up dog park just across from the building (far away enough that you never hear any barking but close enough for some adorable dog watching fun). Third, the building itself is brand new and well-maintained - always clean, quiet and garbage disposal is indoors so you don't have to go outside. Fourth, the units themselves are great, I love mine so much - spacious, lots of cupboard storage space in the kitchen, windows throughout filling the apartment with natural light and having AC (which apparently isn't common to many apartment buildings in Edmonton) has been wonderful given the summer heat. Probably one of the biggest differentiators though is management. Vishal & Tejas are always prompt, reliable, helpful, approachable and regularly go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for their tenants. It's a refreshing experience seeing a property management that actually cares and is on top of it all. Cons - the washing machine & dryer are a bit too tiny tbh. I highly recommend choosing to live at Southpark on Whyte.

It almost has been a month since we started living here, and it has been great ! Its a prime location with restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, cafes etc and its really close to the university making it easy to commute. The 82nd avenue is always very lively. There are bike tracks almost on every road. You can always find e-scooters nearby. The LRT is just a few hundred meters from here and there are many bus stops around the building The building itself is one of the safest buildings in the neighborhood and is maintained really well and has many facilities. The management is really helpful. Vishal and Tejas are one of the friendliest people we have ever met.

I’ve been living here for over a month and found the location is great for restaurants and local shopping. The units are so quiet with being right on the ave. The management staff have been great and helpful not only in the building but with the local attractions as well. I’m definitely happy with choosing this building as my home in Edmonton.

Great location. One leasing agent is nice; the other one, Vishal, not so much. He’s rude to tenants, and loudly does his same sales pitch in the hallways, not considering the tenants that live there and telling potential renters the same thing, “it’s mostly doctors, and lawyers here” to make it seem more exclusive, which is untrue. He’s made other tenants feel unwelcome in their own building as well, rolling his eyes when he sees them in the hallways, one has said they avoid getting their mail during the day when he is there. Both leasing agents park in visitor parking, in both winter and summer, taking up 2 out of the 4 spots. Vishal, often parks in the disabled parking spots (without a permit) if “his” visitor parking spot, closest to the elevator is occupied BY A VISITOR. He will also stop your food deliveries, and mail drop offs, not allowing them to come up to your unit, even though you’ve buzzed them in and given them permission to enter. Only one of the two elevators goes to the floor with the garbage room, and the dog washing room, and that elevator is broken 80% of the time without any email, posting, or communication about it. When asked about it, one leasing agent said it was being used by new tenants to move in (untrue), while the other leasing agent let it slip that it was indeed, broken. So to do either, you have to go outside, around the building. After weeks of trying to get in touch with the management company, we finally spoke with a woman, Andrea, who very reluctantly, said she “would handle” the parking situation. However, when I’ve seen her in the building in the past, she said our visitors could “just park outside if the agents were in the visitor spots”. Tenants have to pay 150$ a month for their parking spots and the leasing agents are parking IN DESIGNATED VISITOR SPOTS/disabled spots for free. Also if there’s room for the visitors to park outside, as she suggested, that’s where the leasing agents should be parking, or paying to park underground like the tenants. It’s insulting. It’s been over two weeks since I’ve spoken to her and they’re now both parking in the handicap spots underground. The entire management company seems helpless, so we’ve resorted to writing this review, hoping some action will be taken. We really enjoy the overall location and unit we’re in. However, the cons outweigh the pros. Look elsewhere on whyte avenue, there are more affordable options with the same perks (since underground visitor and dog wash bay are rarely accessible).

Zero complaints so far! The building is very quiet despite the area, sound proofing is good and unit finishes are very nice. Vishal was exceptionally accommodating and easy to work with during the rental process. The building manager, Tejas, has also been very responsive and helpful with any questions since I moved in. I've been really happy with my decision to chose Southpark. Update after living here for several months - the building is great and the management is SO responsive and thoughtful. Lots of amenities and values adds, and the staff really go above and beyond.
