About Southland Dental Choice
Dr. Mark Spackman was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, where he grew up enjoying many sports and outdoor activities, including Boy Scouts, where he earned his Chief Scout Award. Dr. Mark Spackman continued his education after high school, and completed a 4-year program at SAIT becoming a Journeyman Red Seal Electrician. During his education at SAIT he received the “Deans Award” in his fourth year of electrical education for being the top student, along with volunteering to tutor the younger electricians. Dr. Spackman wanted to challenge himself further, and continue down the path of education, so he decided to attend Mount Royal University where he began his undergraduate education. While raising a family and attending school, his long-standing childhood dream to become a dentist, became a reality, when he received his acceptance letter to the University of Alberta Dental program. He then moved his whole family to Edmonton for Dental School, where he was blessed with his fourth daughter, and went to the University of Alberta to complete his Bachelor of Medical Sciences and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees.
Dr. Mark Spackman enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and strives to provide a relaxing and comfortable environment for his patients, along with top quality dental treatment. He has completed additional training courses in oral surgery, including wisdom tooth removal, sedation, and root canal therapy. Dr. Mark Spackman is always improving his education, taking courses to excel his skills in the dental field.
When Dr. Mark Spackman is not working, he spends time with his wife and 4 daughters. He loves taking his girls camping, on bike rides, and watching their sporting events.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience from start to finish. Dr. Kowalchuck is very gentile, and his assistant was very accommodating during my visit. I felt at ease while getting my filling done. His support staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The hygienist that did my cleaning was thorough and time efficient. The cost is a little high but you really do get what you pay for.

You guys took a major insecurity of mine, my teeth, and made me excited to smile!! Thank you for the encouragement and the attention to detail, and making sure my teeth were straight. No feeling of being rushed out the door here, such a warm and welcoming environment. Thanks again.

Dr. Kowalchuk is an expert in his field. He is able to painlessly administer freezing. I have never felt so comfortable having dental work.
I would without hesitation recommend the staff at ConfiDental to anyone requiring any type of dental work.
From the receptionist to the dental hygienist and the dentists (Dr Cheung and Dr Kowalchuk) they all provide friendly and professional service!
