Sole Experience - Edmonton

I have bunions on both feet and long ago lost confidence that any stores in Edmonton had shoes that I could wear without weeks of painful breaking them in. Even when my sister told me she had found a store that might have shoes that would work for me, I didn't hold out much hope. I was definitely going to check it out as my last pair of shoes were very much worn and I knew they were reaching the end of their usefulness and I didn't know what I was going to do to find my next pair. I had already resorted to applying black felt pen to the spots the bunions had almost worn through to make the grey patches look black to match the shoe. To say I was in a panic about what to do is a gross understatement. I still remember the shame I felt when I asked about my outfit to a fellow traveler who said, "Not with those shoes." Those shoes were the only option I had. We walked into the store and my sister looked around the store for Tammy, the agent that had helped her find just what she was looking for. I found a couple of styles that looked like they might have space for my bunions. That's when Tammy arrived on the scene. After a quick assessment of my feet, which included a survey of my bunions, she assured me once again she had exactly what I needed. When she arrived back carrying several boxes, I was still reserved as I'd heard this before. I have left many stores without shoes and worse, I have left other stores with shoes I hoped to wear in, but couldn't and they remain as new as the day I bought them. When she demonstrated the stretchable leather on the first pair, I allowed a glimmer of hope that she knew what she was talking about. When I tried them on and walked around the store, I was astounded. This is the first time in 20/30 years that I have put on a new pair of shoes and didn't have to calculate if the pain and burning was manageable enough to make the assumption that the shoes, after broken in, would be comfortable and wearable every day. Tammy went on to show me several other shoes AND even boots that would perform for me in the same manner. Do you know the experience of going to your shoe closet and wondering which of your footwear best match your outfit or are the most suitable for the activity of your day? Well, I bought three pair of shoes yesterday, and now I have that option. And none of them hurt my bunions. It's amazing. I also cried more than once in gratitude and joy accompanied by relief. My sister cried too. Tammy is amazing and this shoe store to be in Edmonton and not some dream is still sinking in. I have choices! And I am sitting here in my new Traq shoes and am stymied that I have no pain. Tammy and this store makes the impossible, possible again. Tammy is more than a shoe retailer knowing her product. She cares!

I have hated shoe shopping since I was a child. Sales clerks would have me in tears bringing me wrong size. Saying things like "I can not believe your feet are so big" I came to Sole Experience to find winter boots having gone almost everywhere else. Not only did Adrian help find me right size and width I got boots and two pairs of shoes as well and no tears only gratitude for a great experience my first ever.

Lennard makes THE BEST ORTHOTICS in Edmonton! I love, love, love my orthotics. I don't know what I would do without them. They are so comfortable and make my feet, knees and hips so happy. I will not and cannot buy orthotics anywhere else! These are the best custom orthotics you can get. If you are looking for orthotics, I highly recommend that you go see Lennard. (I also have to say that Sole Experience also has an amazing collection of shoes which I just love too!) This is my favourite shoe store in Edmonton. and bonus - they have a huge sale right now so there are some great deals to be had!

Came in with my father to get him therapeutic orthotics. Got turned away or told we would have to pay full price without insurance. My father is visibly elderly AND we had a prescription form meaning he should only pay a quarter of the price but the employees seemed like they never seen that form in their lives which is baffling. Obviously someone his age isn't going to be working and have insurance to cover the cost. I felt the employees were rude and uncooperative because my dad has a thick accent, despite me being there to translate for him. Terrible experience and I will never spend a dime at this store.

Love this store! They have a wonderful selection of top brand shoes to fit anyone and everyone. Their staff go above and beyond to make sure that you are getting the best fitting shoes no matter how many trips to the back it takes and how many boxes are piled around you...... Thanks Adrian, it took 2 days and I have no idea how many boxes but I really did get the best shoes. You really did a stellar job!!

I visited the store recently to browse and possibly pick up something that would fit my very wide feet, I ended up going home with 3 pairs of shoes. Adrian was so patient and helpful, even with my specific demands. Fantastic service and selection of footwear. They are also able to stretch most shoes to provide the most comfort.

My mother and I came to the Soul Experience store for the first time today. My Mom has several foot issues, and trying to find footwear for her is always a challenge. The entire staff were patient, very helpful, and we finally found a pair of boots that were comfortable for her. This is definitely the place that we will be coming to in the future for any type of shoe, sandal, runners or boots, that she may require. It was great first time experience!!! We will definitely recommend your store to any others that may have Orthopedic issues. Thanks again :)

I took my mother in law here to get fitted for some shoes. Initially her appointment was with Len and he was fantastic with her. He was knowledgeable about the issues facing her with her shoes and very helpful in going through the dozens of pairs of shoes she was looking at. Once his next appointment came, he asked Adrian to help her out. He was amazing with her. Adrian was patient and kind and helped her to find some shoes that she actually loves. Thanks so much for being so patient and understanding with her. It made the shopping trip so much easier. They have so many amazing brands and their selection is great. Highly recommend shopping here.
