Cambridge Daycare - Edmonton

Cambridge daycare is a real gem! They are very friendly, caring, and accommodating. Our daughter loves spending time at Cambridge. We very much appreciate everything they do for our daughter and our family. Many Thanks!

After starting here by staying with my child for two days, I decided to withdraw her. Despite the promises laid out in the handbook, and during our tour, they are not well-prepared to care for infants and staff did not follow policies, including most-troubling, ensuring proper staff-to-child ratios we're maintained if someone had to leave the room. I was also especially bothered by multiple staff repeatedly referring to one of the youngest children as "naughty" and misbehaved, when she was, at 7 mos old, clearly too young to understand or follow instructions. It is inappropriate to be discussing another child like this to a parent, and creates a toxic kind of environment where I don't want my child spending her days.

Words cannot express enough our thanks to the lovely couple Mircea and Dorretta and the dedicated teachers who all run the Cambridge daycare . We have just moved to Edmonton from Australia and have been communicating with staff at Cambridge by email for few months before arriving here for our three and half year old daughter . As planned we had a tour of the daycare the first week in Edmonton , We liked the programme and layout of daycare instantaneously, our daughter was offered lunch with other kids on the day of the tour and my wife who was nursing a 4 month old was given a room to breastfeed the baby and offered coffe, small gestures but so kind and made us feel so very relaxed as we were recovering from a long travel and still very jet lagged. We had no hesitation in signing up for the daycare and we sent our daughter there next day only to receive an unexpected email from another daycare just steps away from my place of work . Logistically it would be much easier for me to drop off and pick up my daughter so that my wife is not left with the hard job of taking public transport with an infant and a toddler to drop off our daughter everyday . We discussed this with Dorretta and she was very compassionate and understanding and readily agreed for us to change the arrangement at daycare from month to month arrangement to a casual one so that we didnt incur any financial losses as we had already signed and submitted our enrolment papers for long term full time daycare at Cambridge . You both are a wonderful couple, the way kids interact with you both shows how much they love you, our stay with you was limited but memorable . I’m sure many more parents will benefit big time by sending their kids to Cambridge daycare . Best wishes .!! and Congratulations on completing 20 years of day care soon .!!

I cannot say enough about how amazing this day care is so instead I will list my highlights. They are very organized, with schedules for everything including clean up duties for staff, bathroom schedules for each room, and rotations for the play area outside. There is very low staff turnover which says a lot about how wonderful the facility is. The food is homemade, well balanced and healthy with no processed foods hitting the menu. Their programming is amazing!! With emphasis on pre-literacy skills (which as an SLP, I was thrilled about), monthly themes and corresponding activities and outdoor events in the community in the summer. They also throw parties for special events (mother’s day, father’s day) and invite families to come and celebrate with the kids and meet the other families from your child’s room. Every Friday they also hold a dance party in the afternoon for the kids. They share information from Alberta Health services about wellness and developmental milestones. I also liked that they send home monthly newsletters from each room and talk about how the theme from the past month was taught and incorporated into activities. There is a park around the corner from the facility that each room takes turns walking to to get some outdoor time. There is also a small play area in the back that is used in the afternoons. My daughter was not only well taken care of but also felt loved and supported. She really flourished at Cambridge day care and I was so sad when we had to move back to Saskatoon and find a new day care. Thanks Cambridge for being so amazing!

My children have good relationships with the staff. The older groups of children visit the local aged care facility, and walk to the library. It is a good example of an urban, busy day care. It is very multi-cultural. They have very little staff turnover. There are fun celebrations for major holidays and mothers and fathers day. I really appreciate their opening hours, because sometimes I have to be at work early.

Our son attended this daycare for just under a year (12m-23m) and we had such a great experience. The staff were all great and the daycare always felt cozy & family run with the benefit of the daycare structure. We also felt like our son learned a lot there including picking up some sign language from the staff!

Amazing daycare, we are so grateful that we find it! My son was 5 and half month when we send him here, and he was so happy, it only took him a day to adjust. To me this daycare feels like family, cozy and warm, kids are happy there. staff are amazing as well. It has been more than a month since he go to this daycare, and every time I come pick him up he seems like is not willing to leave... Before I send him here, I was so worried that he is going to miss home and feel left alone , but this daycare give him a big warm family feeling and great care, that he is truly loved and growing and learning. I feel very confident and comfortable send him here as I know he will have a great day! This is the perfect daycare for my kid :)

Our kids have had such a wonderful experience at Cambridge. The owners and staff are so caring and invested. You truly get the feeling that the level of care they provide is the same level of care they would give to their own children or grandchildren. They have also spent so much time and thought into creating a unique and child centred space where kids can learn, adventure and grow. We're so grateful to have found them!
