Went to pay my dad's phone bill and was told because he didn't bank there that I was not able to pay it here.. I went to my scotia bank in lumby and they had no problem paying it. The Lumby branch told me that I should've been able to pay at the village green branch and they didn't know why the ladies there told me I couldn't. Not happy with this branch. ?

Steven helped me out big time, go to this bank if you want to work with professionals that will help you be in a better financial position. Thereโ€™s a reason I do ALL of my banking with them.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in a bank. Even the manager did not know how to do a third-party deposit to a Scotia bank customer. They said it was impossible, I asked if they could wire transfer instead and they said not to another Scotia bank.. i asked if there were any suggestions and they actually told me to mail it. I went to the 30th street branch and it was done in 5 minutes.

Worst banking and mortgage experience ever. No communication, incorrect documents, addresses and names. Local "financial advisors" who refuse to return your phone calls and emails. Will never work with Scotiabank ever again

It is beyond frustrating to not be able to contact the branch directly .My teenage children had appointments today to set up bank accounts but, unfortunately, woke up with a bit of a stomach flu. Multiple calls to the branch only got me the National number who were unable to locate the appointments as the kids did not have debit card numbers (duh... They are new clients) .I found this even more frustrating since the appointments we set up through the National number in the first place . Even though I have the person at the branch's name, they wouldn't even try to find the appointment. They then lectured me on several aspects of their phone system such as when you press zero it just goes to them and not the branch even though you called the branch ... And "next time don't press zero" in the snottiest voice. (You know what? This REALLY doesn't help. I already told you I have barfing kids that I'm dealing with, I don't need attitude from someone who is representing a place in was planning on giving money to. I'm tired of being treated like a burden by Scotiabank and will gladly move to another bank .) After being "transferred to the branch" I got voicemail for a media relations (?) or similar position Clearly not a teller in the branch. I called the branch number again hoping to get a better customer service agent but this one worse. He did not listen nor respond. After about what felt like 20 seconds of dead air and me saying hello? Hello? And finally saying for f#$&'s sake he finally said "I'm here but you don't need to make appointments to open accounts. They can just go in". I'll admit, this is where I completely lost it. Many f bombs before /while hanging up. This is not the bank for me or my kids anymore.

The low ratings and other reviews come as no surprise to me. Been dealing with this bank at village green branch for 6 years now with my home mortgage. Not once have I ever been happy with the customer service. Painfully slow. Always changing employees, with new representatives, and then 3 months later they get canned and another new one is there. I can wait for my mortgage to expire. Their llw rates are not worth the painfully awful service they provide. Glad I dont bank day to day with these guys. Highly recommend avoiding this bank and this branch especially.

I have never experienced a more disturbing mishandling of money- EVER! My wife convinced me to come over from TD and it is the worst decision I ever made. We were phoned several months back, with an offer to โ€œconsolidateโ€ by borrowing against our home. At first it seemed like a great idea. The fellow we started working with would barely reply to my wife, who handled 90% of the interactions. He was dreadful and seriously couldnโ€™t take time out to write a 30second email. Next we were transferred to another fellow who at least seemed like our time mattered. We were approved, and things started going forward... which was a big mistake. The mortgage department took one lump sum, so we couldnโ€™t even prove that the bank paid our bills. This was extremely ridiculous when there was a BANK DRAFT CHEQUE RETURNED NSF- from the bank. Yeah apparently that can happen. It took 2 and a half months to pay one bill- one!!! Of course Scotia is doing nothing to fix this, they paid the original amount, not the interest they incurred for me by their gross misconduct. They charged NSF fees to the payee and have ring my credit horribly. Thereโ€™s nothing they can do to compensate and putting the onus on the recipient of our money to fix my credit, even though it is 100% Scotia banks fault. I, and my wife, have no desire to keep our money with them anymore and are seriously worried about our mortgage being in their hands.

Good service, and friendly staff - especially the person welcoming you in (manager? Kim) No issues with our mortgage, and a very user friendly online banking program. Once had a client service agent that didn't know what she was doing, but otherwise as good as a bank can be!
