Absolutely stunning building. We visited on a weekday morning and there was not another soul to be seen. The acoustics were incredible; every step, every cough, every little sound was magnified five times over. A must see for anyone, regardless of belief system.

This Basilica is a sleeper as by the looks of the outside would make one think that there isn't really much going on inside. Boy was I surprised! Don't judge a book by it's cover. The inside is gorgeous!! Spacious, amazing Roman Catholic art, colored glass pane windows, and so quiet you can hear a pin drop.

BEAUTIFUL! The exterior might not look especial, but once you go inside it's really beautiful, the walls, the ceiling, the chandeliers, the columns, everything it's exquisite! And as it's not commercialized it's really quiet and peaceful, so you can enjoy your time as a tourist taking photos and admiring the church, or as a church goer.

It is one of the Oldest Basilica in Montreal since 1847; and I work there especially so I have explored each corner with specific knowledge. The speciality is on top of the Altar, there are two Colour glasses which gives the exotic rainbow effect in the noon when the sun is bright. Church has 117 picture of Saints all over the walls including two big image of Saint Patricks in the corner. Currently, the paster is Monsignor Coyle who is very respected and honourable priest in the Basilica. Because of covid, Basilica opens at 11:30am for 12:10pm weekly Masses and on weekend there are different time schedules(Saturday-5pm, Sunday-9am,11am,1pm,5pm). You are most welcome to come for the Mass with prior reservation. 250 People allowed !!! Great news

This is one of the most underrated and forgotten churches in the center of Montreal. Since it is situated somewhere between two areas that are usually frequented by tourists, the church does not get many walk-ins. The church has an impressive altar with an unusual color scheme for Montreal. While many Montreal churches tend to use cold and blue tones, the warm-toned/earth-toned interior of Saint Patrick's Basilica is a rarity that is worth the detour.

They have a very good reverent Mass. All the COVID stuff is done now so you can sit where you want and go up to get the Eucharist and you are invited to sing along. It's honestly one of the nicest church in Montreal. I love going to Mass there. Great people there too !
