We went to Sage Bistro tonight for the grand finale of our 21st anniversary trip to the Canmore area. I can say without reservation that this was the best food my mouth has ever had the privilege of experiencing. I would sell my soul for another plate of the Chicken Cordon Bleu. We are from WAY out of town, but we will have to make the effort to hit up Canmore to eat whenever we are kind of close. I could not overstate how satisfied I am. Hubby had oysters, duck confit, and the tuna salad, he was equally wowed. I’d give 10 ⭐️ if I could. Amazing.

Had supper back in Oct before Covid was as bad as it is now, so we were able to dine in. My partner had the beef burger with salad which he said was quite tasty. My friend had Caprese salad and soup of the day, while her partner had the trout. Both were beautifully presented on their plates and both enjoyed their meals. I had the French onion soup, which was very delicious but an exceptionally small portion for the cost of $15. Service was friendly and attentive.

Stopped in as the other breakfast place we wanted to go had no parking and are glad we made the switch. Awesome log cabin atmosphere. Even though there were lots of groups seated, it did not feel claustrophobic or noisy. Ordered the Train wreck to share, which is basically a "one of everything dish" and it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in recent memory (and I frequent lots of breakfast clubs in Calgary). The bacon was smoked and cooked with a perfect crispness, the breakfast sausage was full of flavor, the fruit was fresh, the potato wedges were seasoned perfectly, the French toast was just the right amount of sweet (not overwhelming) and topped with a light but very tasty maple butter, the blueberry lemon curd topped pancakes struck a good balance between dense and fluffy... And while the toast was (obviously) pain, the homemade blueberry jam was incredible. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Canmore.

An upscale facility with a varied menu, I asked our server Jessica to ask the chef what he enjoys preparing the most ... and then order that for me. The lamb shank was marvelous. The veggies - cauliflower, broccoli, beets, carrots, peppers, beans & whipped potatoes were all great. Hot and yet el dente. The wine list is impressive ... the desert coffees were amazing. Jessica's service could not have been excelled. Try the Sage Bistro whenever you can. You will not be disappointed.

Great food but they don’t show the barest scintilla of common sense in seating guests. We were a party of two. They seated us at a 4-person table with another couple at it, separated by a transparent plastic screen in the midst of the Omicron spike. We were literally 2 ft from the next couple. Privacy was virtually non-existent - we might as well have been part of the other couple’s conversation. If this was a crowded place, I could understand, but there were only 4 other tables with people at them. They bunched 3 of these tables together into the middle of the restaurant for no apparent reason - again, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. Within about 30 minutes or sitting down, only us and the couple nearly attached to us were left. Sitting cheek-to-jowl, in a now-empty restaurant. For what we’re paying for dinner, we expect a moment’s consideration to be given to the comfort - and safety - of their guests.

What a great restaurant! We bumped into this gem looking for something casual to eat. Not only the food is great, the views of the mountains are spectacular! Totally recommend this Bistro. The lamb shank is out of this world!

If you like unseasoned meat and raw vegetables, this is the place for you! It’s difficult to make food tasteless, but this place has managed to do that. For the price you pay per dish this is probably the most disappointing restaurant I’ve been to in the last 10 years. The most flavourful part of the meal was the water, please show the chef what spices are.
