I’ve dumped probably $200 worth of (mostly craft) beer purchased from here that was either extremely past the expiry date or very very old. It’s unusual that this store would frequently carry such old stock of good-selling craft beers like Fernie Brewing, Last Best, Toolshed, etc. I just accidentally purchased a 9 month old 6 pack of Last Best yesterday. A few months ago I bought an 8 pack of Guinness that expired almost a year ago. Very frustrating.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fair selection of craft beers and wine from around the globe. The sales associate who asked if I needed help finding something came off as though I was an annoyance for taking a few minutes to select a couple craft beers and made it very obvious that he was watching me while I shopped. In contrast the till clerk happily talked to me about my selections and made a suggestion showing knowledge and interest. The incossistency of my experience is why I marked them down otherwise they are a good store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ GIANT THANK YOU to the gentlemen cashier at the Safeway liquor store on 130th ave last night! First time I went in a couple weeks ago having the worst possible day EVER! My eyes were probably so red and puffy from crying but this man asked me how my day was and even wished for me to have a better day! It is so glad to see even with everything going on, that we still can be so nice to each other. I don’t know if he would even see this and I really wish I looked at his name tag to give him a proper thank you. But you sir brighten my day when I had the worst day possible and even last night when I went in you were as happy and nice as I remember!! We need more people like you in this world! I hope you get the thanks you deserve!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairly well stocked with wines. Beer stock is average and liquor stock is average to good. Not the friendliest staff though. I’ve purchased from this store multiple times over the past 10 years and found the cashiers to be as basic in their customer service skills as possible.

You could go to any other place in McKenzie and find what you are looking for alot cheaper.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not following masking rules. One customer had NO mask. When I mentioned it the cashier said he didn’t notice! Seriously? Manage didn’t wear mask properly and another customer also did not wear their mask properly. I won’t go back
