Food tasty, portions good, pricing alright. Service can be slow (but still friendly) because they get so many food app orders. Always make sure you get a fork, for some reason they don't keep their forks near the cash, so the cashier never puts it in your bag.

Food isn’t terrible got the oxtail meat was cooked great in my opinion but the seasoning is just non existent the unseasoned (besides maybe salt and pepper) vegetables have much more flavour then the oxtail which is sad because oxtail gravy is definitely my favourite. Rice has a good amount of gravy but I taste the herbs in the rice more then the oxtail gravy which is pretty ridiculous ?. Honesty this is my first review ever but I just needed to say it. Oxtail definitely needs alot more FLAVAAA. Great service and nice people who work there though.

Lived in Toronto for a short time a couple years ago with my partner in a condo across the street and this place was our favorite to eat. The jerk chicken and rice with coleslaw is just unreal and one large takeout would feed me for two meals. Now in Winnipeg, I often reminisce about Roywoods, it was honestly just that delicious and I haven't had jerk chicken on par with theirs since. Also love that Roywoods is open late and the servers were always very nice. Miss getting takeout here.

Love jerk chicken! Especially with a view! The sandwich was just perfect! The chicken was moist and tender! And to add coleslaw into the mix! That’s just something to talk about right there on its own! The ox tail had a nice chew to it and was so tasty! Service was great! The girl cashing me out helped me with a smile the entire time, which made for an even better experience! I officially have my downtown jerk chicken place! And don’t forget to wash this delicious meal down with a ting! Super refreshing and a nice palate cleanser! Great job overall! As taste is subjective I will only say that I’ve tried nearly everything on their menu multiple times each and everything is consistently great. Their plantains are the best in the city, they caramelize them nicely whereas some places they are more tough. I find the portions to be very fair and they pack the food in to maximize amount of food. Where I will disagree with others is the customer service. I take exception to the staff being called unprofessional and rude as I have found them to be super friendly to not only myself but the other patrons as well, no matter their race. One time the place was really busy with Uber orders and food was taking longer than usual and me and another customer were offered free Jamaican patties. I actually think they have some of the better customer service in Toronto, something I’ve noticed has dramatically gone downhill especially since the pandemic.

I came to Roy Woods last Friday. I ordered a small chicken soup. It was my first time trying soup here. I have to say, it was terrible. I am not one to complain but it had no taste, it looked unattractive and the smell was not appealing. After observing the ingredients, I noticed celery, green banana and pasta. Personally, I do not feel that this is a good combination, as a traditional Jamaican chicken soup is not made that way. As a valued customer, I think the ingredients for your chicken soup should be reevaluated and making it the traditional Jamaican way would be a better option.

Food is edible but the service is the ABSOLUTE WORST! Last time they β€œforgot” the sides despite me reminding them they said it’s there and it wasn’t. This time we ordered food and they told us there are no sides, no brown rice (so they gave us steamed white rice) and tiny portions. They had no food to compensate us with and gave us no discount for the lack of portions offered. If your menu says something and you don’t have it- have the courtesy to be respectful to the customer or atleast be a little humble! If you have no food replacements then either close your store or offer discounts for the leftovers you’re offering people. This is basic business sense but I doubt anyone here got an education in business or customer service.

Always a fan to try anything black owned. Ordered the jerk shrimp and jerk pork sandwich. Forgot to take a photo of the sandwich none the less. Shrimp were a good size, good flavour. Also not used to having pineapple with jerk or rice and peas, it fits well so I enjoy it. Jerk pork was good but felt a little dry for my liking. My sides were coleslaw, not wasn't too exciting. The best coleslaw Ive had was from Shandra roti shop
