My two children and I have been going to Royal Vista Dental from when it first opened, we have been with Dr. Charles from the beginning, and he is terrific. Over the last ten years, I think we have gone through many receptionists, all of which have been excellent and understanding. My recent experience with a receptionist has been quite different. My experience with this clinic has not been to get repeated phone calls and emails regarding my outstanding amount. Receptionists in the past took the time to have a conversation and were understanding of my specific situation; single mother, university student, sometimes one coverage, sometimes two, and occasionally none, but my account has always been paid. Parbhjot does not know me, nor does she make an effort to; instead, she requested a credit card on file when I was in the office and felt the need to remind me by phone and email of the $93 balance. I understand this may be policy, but there are many ways this could have been done without being shaming or humiliating. In addition, I requested a quote for a mouthguard and have yet to receive one from her. Perhaps she has decided it is out of my price range. I am just so annoyed, and I had considered seeing Charles at his other office, but I can barely find the time to get to this clinic, and I live in Royal Oak. I would encourage Parbhjot to consider that not every person who walks into that clinic comes from a two-income household. Those with an outstanding balance are well aware that you consider using empathy and human connection. Customer service requires these things.
