Dr. Joanna "Joumana" Salame’ (Sal-may) is a Canadian and American Board Certified Periodontist. She received a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree from the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry in Michigan, USA. She completed a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Oral Biology at the University of Manitoba in Canada and earned a certificate in Periodontology and Oral Implantology and a second Master of Science (M.S) in Oral Biology from Temple University, Kornberg School of Dentistry, Philadelphia, USA.
Her professional memberships include Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(c)), Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (AAP), Diplomate and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), Fellow of the Misch International Implant Institute, a former Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, and a Clinical Instructor at the University of Alberta. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Salame and her team for my first gum grafting surgery. Dr. Salame is very knowledgeable and was very thorough in explaining how the procedure will go. Hao was very nice in assisting and made sure I feel comfortable during the procedure. Daniel also did my cleaning a few months after my procedure and he gave me great advice on how to keep my gums healthy! Shirley and the rest of the front desk were also extremely nice and helpful in figuring out my insurance claims. Highly recommend!

Dr. Salame will very quickly win you over if you're experiencing any anxiety. She has a passion for her job that is rare. Everything is explained thoroughly, calmly and with respect. I've had two surgeries with Dr Salame and several to come - my preexisting dental anxiety is non-existent and I actively look forward to visiting.

She did an amazing job with my gum graft, the results and progress to this day are just astonishing. If you have gum recession, I would highly recommend to see her. I also wanted to mention the staff working there - they are truly so lovely! I had so many questions pre and post surgery, and they were always willing to help and get an answer for me. Thank you Marina and Jaz and others that I have missed. I recently also went in for a check up and hygiene appointment, Dorothy did a fantastic job during the cleaning process and ensured to be gentle near the gum graft area. My teeth looked and felt amazing after not being able to brush 100% around the surgical area for a while, post surgery. Smiles all around now! Thank you Synergy Perio team!

They are priced reasonably and make every effort to get procedures done quickly and properly.
