He walked away shaking his head, murmuring something in his mouth. When leaving the store, I could hear him cursing as I walk out.

He is always professional and polite. I have never heard him use foul language. I would highly recommend this place.

Yes you can get "cheaters" from a drug-store or big-box outlet but having a set of prescription reading glasses is the way to go. Cato was excellent in helping me pick out the correct size of frame and afterwards when I had an issue with a chipped lens--due to my mishandling of my frames--he replaced the lens at no additional cost. Would I go back again? You bet, in fact, it's time to make another appointment for another examination and probably another pair of stronger reading glasses, oh the joy of getting older...

I didn't want to look around so I said I would pay 20 to get it done quick. The guy looked at me and raised his voice and told me to leave. Somehow I insulted the guy by saying I would pay? Found my way to a nearby optical shop. Got my glasses fixed for free, had a quick chat and promised to 5-star review them. Don't be rude to people just because they are not your usual customers, because 1st time customers are always the ones to one-star you and five-star your competitors.

He was very friendly and warm and prices were very reasonable. You definitely get impression that the owner is focused on customer satisfaction. Will definitely make this my regular spot for glasses and contacts.

After my first appointment, I thanked him and I told him how impressed I was with the service and that he would have my business forever. Cato is especially helpful in working with me to ensure I get the best quality items and he provides the highest level of service. Years ago when I switched from distance glasses to contacts he provided me with valuable advice. A few years ago I had laser eye surgery but still needed reading glasses and back I went to Cato who helped out yet again. Recently I had to switch to progressive lenses (the joy of aging) and Cato was invaluable in helping me transition to these new types of glasses. Whenever I have had an issue with the lenses (read me dropping my glasses and chipping them) or losing a screw (the frames not my head), he has graciously fixed the problem for me at no cost to me. So I highly recommend Rouge Valley Optical and Cato.

As I read some of the negative comments on here I am baffled and shocked. My philosophy in life is "Actions speak louder than words" so go in and you will see for yourself. I bought two pairs of glasses and he offered to transition my old frames into sunglasses. I recommended a friend and he was very happy with the service and his new glasses.
