Rocky View Brewing Company is a micro brewery located between the city of Calgary and the town of Cochrane, in the beautiful Foothills of Alberta. The brewery was established in 2016 out of a passion for crafting great tasting beer, one small batch at a time.

Rocky View Brewing Company is a microbrewery located between the city of Calgary and the town of Cochrane, in the beautiful Foothills of Alberta.

The brewery was established in 2016 out of a passion for crafting great-tasting beer, one small batch at a time. The co-founder, Lyle Thorsen, enjoyed sharing his homebrew creations with family and friends so much he convinced his wife, Denean, to expand into a commercial-scale operation so his brews could be shared with others who also enjoy drinking fresh and flavorful local beer.

What started as an offering of three flagship ales; Blonde, Amber and IPA, has now grown to also include German Style Pilsner, Belgian Witbier, Brown Ale and our seasonal Adventure Series brews.

Our family-owned brewery is located on an acreage in the rural area of Bearspaw, Alberta. It is here that a home brewing passion expanded into a fully operational brewery in 2016. At the time Lyle worked in an office in downtown Calgary, so brew days were only on weekends. In early 2019 things changed and Rocky View Brewing Company transitioned to become a full-time business endeavor. We have since expanded our product distribution across Alberta and opened a Taproom in Historic Downtown Cochrane in December 2021.

We focus on brewing approachable beers to bring an enjoyable experience to a broad range of craft beer enthusiasts. Celebrating Denean's Cree heritage, we incorporate Indigenous ingredients into our beers where ever possible and our beers do not contain any additives or preservatives.

We are truly blessed to have had such a positive response from our customers. Thank you for your support so that we are able to continue on this beer brewing journey!

D	Denise M on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, but the service wasn't great. It wasn't busy, so unfortunately I dont feel there's much of an excuse. We were there 2 hours mostly just waiting for our order, both plates came 15 minutes apart. The beer selection was okay, would love to see a sour, also waited around 20 minutes for 2 flights. Their dog friendly patio was nice.

We were in before the lunch rush, and it still took 20min to get our beer and another hour to get a half order of nachos, then an additional 15min to get the second dish. The nachos were mediocre at best and the pretzel/cheese dip had sat out for some time before being served. Probably some better options in Cochrane for a lunch stop.

We walked in only to be stared at by a woman wearing a ball cap and athletic wear. She immediately told us to take a seat with no greeting, no welcome, no “how are you?” She basically just acted like we were a huge bother for coming in. She took our orders and brought us our drinks and food (the food was very good I will say. The only redeeming part of our experience) we then sat for a while with our empty drinks on the table (another waitress took only one of them leaving 2 other glasses on the table.) no body bothered to ask if we would like a refill or a water. At this point we were thirsty and wanted to actually get served so we asked for the bill. When she brought it she asked us accusingly where the third cup was. Needless to say after 1. Getting horrible and unprofessional service and 2. Being accused of stealing a glass by our waitress, we will not be coming back. We ended up going to The Venue where we got the service we are entitled to as paying customers.

The portion is much too small for $13. I make them at home for a fraction of that price considering the quantity I can make. Their Pizza is overpriced, considering that a lot of places in town already have amazing pizza. Pasta is meh… as I make better pasta at home as well. I don’t drink beer because I’m gluten free, but absolutely love their honey mead ?

B	Bobby Theriault on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 6 stars. Beautiful brewery, friendly owner and staff. I came here the first day at the opening and I wasn’t disapointed at all. The building is beautiful, ambiance is warming and cozy. I highly recommand this brewery, beautiful place, can’t mention it enough !

I love all their pastas and tapas (the Prosciuto purse is fantastic). Last Sunday we tried their Chicken Waffle (I believe is a Sunday special) and it is to die for (probably the best one I have ever had). My son really loved his Waffle with ice cream.

We tried the Nepalese Dumplings, Bao Buns, Chicken stew and the Pork Ribs. Everything was extraordinary. Flavors are very intense and the dishes so originals for Cochrane. Great Job. We will be there very often.
