Last Best Brewing & Distilling opened its doors in May 2015. The name Last Best draws from Calgary’s eclectic history. At the end of the 1800s, the Canadian government launched a campaign called ‘The Last Best West’; it’s purpose was to populate the western prairies and grow agriculture in Canada. The administration believed that this area was the Last Best chance in the modern world for homesteaders to lay roots and shape their futures. The accomplishments resulting from the Last Best initiative have paved the way for the budding craft beer and distilling industries here in Alberta. Last Best Brewing & Distilling honours this historical spirit through its name and unwavering commitment to making delicious well-crafted beer, spirits and Alberta-inspired cuisine.

Great time had by all here! We made a reservation and they even accommodated us adding one more. Drink service was quick with excellent choices for beer and cocktails. Server took our order quick and was friendly. No errors on the special requests. Food was outstanding. The Brussels sprouts were a tasty start. I had the brisket. What a ton of food! A friend had the chicken pot pie. It could have fed four people! Too full to eat dessert. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place.

This place is just short of a fine dining experience. The burrata and tartare were amazing and our friends ordered veggie fries (fries made of carrots and various roots) and the wings and they were all ok. I took off one star because the sourdough bread that accompanied these $18 dishes were Costco variety, almost cheap French loaf style instead of thick crust rustic sourdough that you'd expect with this kind of dish. That would have made the experience more enjoyable but overall great place.

Last best brewing is a sweet place. It's a nice building with a good atmosphere. Browsing the menu, everything looks good, and I went for the fried chicken sandwich. It comes with two perfectly cooked chicken thighs, the tenderest and most flavorful part of the chicken. Highly recommended, so good. I did mine with an egg and was not disappointed! 5 stars.

We hosted a company event at LB and it was incredible! We had over 40 people there. The space was awesome and with covid restrictions everyone felt safe (LB did a great job following the rules). The food was amazing and on time for such a large group. Cocktails and service was on point! I would definitely recommend hosting an event at this venue. We will be back in the future!

This is a go to spot for us. The service, experience, beer, laidback atmosphere, and food are all top notch. They have an amazing extended happy hour [Mon-Sat 11:30-6 PM], try the smoked olives and pickle chips. The pizza is fantastic [try the sweet and spicy pepperoni pizza] … but the highlight is the biscuit bennies on their brunch menu. This is probably the best Egg’s Benedict we have ever had! It’s magic. Also, the burger is one of the greatest of all times. Bonus points for having a bottle of hand sanitizer on the tables for use during the pandemic.

They do justify the name and is actually the 'Last Best' in terms of food. We ordered Cast Iron Nachos and they were so bad and on top of it burnt. The cheese had turned rubbery after some time and the avocado mash along with it was awful. Since a very simple dish was so bad, so didn't bother ordering more stuff. For beers, we ordered samplers and they were good hence the 2 star. The service was poor and we were not served cutlery. Seems like they were short on staff.

I've been going to Last Best, relatively often, and it never disappoints. The beer on tap selection is amazing with really cool flavors to try. I really enjoyed the berry sour that I had last time! It does get really busy so just be cognizant of when you're going to eat and maybe make a reservation. I can highly recommend the stinky cheese and honey pizza because it is a flavor bomb that is out of this world! We also tried their smoked olives and their brussel sprouts which were both also really great. Service is usually really awesome here. However, I have had a couple experiences where waitresses have been a little snippy, or they forget to come give us our bill, but it really doesn't change how I feel about this place ? Go check them out sometime!
