How can I get government funding to support my hospitality business’s expansion into foreign jurisdictions?
If your business is in the hospitality industry and is looking to diversify its revenue streams, you should consider the CanExport program. Whether you are selling product like craft beer or provide a sit-down service in line with gastro-tourism, the Canadian federal government will give you up to $75,000 to explore the benefits and feasibility of exporting into foreign jurisdictions. This funding covers a range of areas from the cost of travelling to the jurisdiction, participation in expositions, marketing costs, as well as business analysis and legal fees.
Particularly for hospitality-focused businesses, it can be difficult to imagine how to “export” to foreign jurisdictions when the business does not have a product to ship to other countries. However, tourism is a form of exportation that the CanExport program covers. While COVID-19 regulations have all but restricted international tourism, now is a good time to explore the impact of marketing tourism to foreigners in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please make sure to ask Claudius whether he can do the job or not CLEARLY before giving the retainer.
Before taking the retainer of $2500, they agreed to everything and assured me that they can do the job. But after that things took a different direction. And, all that ‘retainer amount’ was spent by Claudius and team in doing the research and phone/email conversation (a couple hours in total) to find out whether they can do the job or not. Finally, told me that they can’t do it and since they spent some time so can’t return any money. In fact, he said that we went over budget (retainer amount $2500) but gave me the so-called discount of that amount. I never received a single agreement of the 3 he promised to deliver and wasted both time and $2500.
If they were not sure, they should have just scheduled paid consultation call/meeting to understand the requirements.
Would never recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of Corporate related work.
