Went there with a friend. Enjoyed it, but simple. I'd go back, it's good/great, but I'd also try other places.

Wonderful campsite. We only stayed for one night but I must say they are organized. We arrived very late but they had our map a key fob all ready for us to pick up when we arrived. We didn’t have to contact anyone. We made our way to our site - right on the water literally. Very nice treed lot with a open fire pit and newer picnic table. Clean bathrooms were about a 5-6 minute walk from our site. We could here the 401 in the distance but not loud at all. Sometimes you could here a train in the distance as well. Nothing crazy annoying. The park rents boats and kayaks which is awesome for kids. Seen a fairy crossing the lake as well .. pretty cool. All in All it was a beautiful lot and time. We will be back.

Very large campground. They have put in trails around the grounds which is very nice however some were very overgrown. The staff were very friendly. Our site had zero tree cover during the day which was less ideal with the +40 temperatures but otherwise it was a very lovely stay.

This was our first and probably last time there. Not because it's a bad campground/resort but because we used Rideau Acres as a jumping off spot to go house hunting in Brockville. Once we live in Brockville, there'll be no need to camp at Rideau. The campgrounds are well maintained, pristine and sites are spacious. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. They don't get four or five stars only because a)the constant drone of traffic from the 401 and the repeated blaring horns of CN and VIA Rail trains was really, really disturbing. No one could be foreseen the volume of highway/rail traffic or Kingston's growth back in 1971 when the camp was founded. To be fair, our hybrid trailer isn't 'sealed' like a regular travel trailer so we'd hear more night noises than others. The beach and swimming left much to be desired. Too many sharp rocks, very shallow and weedy - which can be blamed on psycho, radical, unreasonable environmentalists who prohibit the owners from eradicating any weeds around the swimming area.

We (2 adults 2 kids aged 4.5 & 7yrs) visited Rideau Acres for the first time this past weekend (Aug 19 - 21) it was our children's first ever camping trip and we were thrilled with the experience. We were tent camping on site T4 which was absolutely massive and offered a good level of privacy from other campers, this was our first pandemic era vacation and I was quite nervous that things would be too crowded but there were zero issues in that department. our one complaint about our specific campsite is that it was quite dirty with litter (cigarette butts, discarded citronella candles melted on to the picnic table, plastic cutlery laying around) but that's more of a reflection of inconsiderate previous campers than the park itself and we used it as an opportunity to teach our girls about courtesy to others. the on site pool was a huge hit for us as well as the variety of ducks, geese, turkeys and one silly rooster! the kids loved visiting the birds and squealed with delight when one particularly friendly duck accepted some cut up pieces of grape and sunflower seeds, right from their hands. the hiking trails to the scenic lookout were breath taking and when we reached the top of the cliff we were delighted to discover a turkey wandering around. Our one complaint would be that some of the younger staff at the registration office didn't seem very knowledgeable about different amenities, we had to ask 3 different staff members where we could fill our water jug as nothing was indicated on the map and none of them seemed to have any idea (we finally found a fill station at the picnic pavilion) All things considered we were extremely happy with our trip and we will most definitely return to Rideau Acres in Summer 2022. I would highly recommend to anyone.

This is a beautiful campground. They have a mixture of seasonal, trailer and tent sites. Various sites accommodate electrical (30 or 50 amp) , along with water and sewer. The campgrounds are kept neatly groomed and clean. They can boast having a beautiful beach, children's park, a 9 hole Frisbee golf course, a goose/duck pond, a boat launch with large docks and a banquet hall for weddings. I would give it 5 stars, but at times you can hear the highway 401 and distant train. I loved our recent stay and will definitely be back again.
