About Ricky's All Day Grill - South Common

From our humble origins as breakfast experts – to today’s menu with dozens of modern dishes for any time of the day, Ricky’s is a place where everyone feels at home.

Ricky’s opened its doors in Vancouver in 1962 as Ricky’s Pancake House, famous for buttermilk pancakes, value breakfast specials, and the very best service. Ricky’s expanded in the 1980s to include full lunch and dinner. As well, in 2014, Ricky’s acquired ABC Country Restaurants, a chain that had delivered great country fare for over 40 years. This merge brought together two great brands, both with a rich history of delivering exceptional food and service to Canadian families.

In 2017, the Ricky’s brand further expanded with the launch of Ricky’s CafΓ©, a new contemporary cafΓ© concept with an express burger and sandwich bar and gourmet home meal takeout service. All while still serving the famous breakfasts and high quality lunch and dinner items Ricky’s is known for.

With ongoing expansion, including new locations opening in Alberta and BC, Ricky’s has 85+ locations across Canada to serve you.

Always have a good breakfast at this location. I just wish they would start to carry Gluten Free Bread with a dedicated toaster like some of the other locations do. I tend to go to Cora’s or Tutti Frutti because they have better gluten free options.

Had a 10 minute wait. Daughter had triple B french toast. Looked amazing. I had meat lovers bowl, wife had Blackstone bowl. So good. I didn't get a pick of my bowl, ate it to quickly.

Had lunch here with our sons. Great service and delicious food. We appreciated that the waitress brought out the kids meal so quickly.

We've never been to Ricky's before so we thought we'd stop in on the way out of Edmonton for breakfast. The restaurant had a mask policy along with hand sanitizer by the door. We were also asked for our COVID passports and ID upon our arrival and before seating our group. The restaurant was clean and our server was great and funny. We ordered Bacon Cheddar Waffles & eggs, Traditional Benny's and Chorizo Breekie Bowl with coffees and o.j. The waffles was a surprise! The bacon and cheese was incorporated into the waffles so every bite was filled with yummy goodness. The chorizo bowl had a zing that woke the palate and was very filling. The traditional benny was delightfully delicious, the eggs were runny and perfect! I would go again for breakfast to try other items.

Had a nice meal here tonight. The place was clean and quiet. We had the Califresco Salad, Philly Cheesesteak and a Strawberry Lemonade and an Iced tea with peach puree. All of it was delicious. The bun with the salad was amazing. Hot fresh and oh so delicious. Portion size was huge. Both of us couldn't finish our meals. The only two things to note was the refills weren't offered until very late in the meal and we had to actually stop eating because we needed a drink so bad and they took forever to bring the refill. The second issue was the women's bathroom was smelt so bad of Sulphur from the pee trap being dried out I had to hold my breath. When I left the washroom I stopped our server and mentioned that if they just put a cup or so of water down the pea trap they won't get that smell. She said they are aware and do it but she just walked away and was not interested in going to the washroom to pour a cup of water down the drain at all. Too bad really because either was so bad.

The place is nice and food portions are big but the food is not very tasty. I personally got the linguini Alfredo and I got 8 shrimps you can count them and the rest just bland pasta noodles and it costed more than $20. They have surprises for kids at the end of the meal

Solid 3.5. Good location. Decent menu. Fair prices. Good service. Took a loooong time to get food. Only complaint. Epic grilled cheese. Love they still serve liver and onions.
