This is now the customers home branch because the RBC closed their Turner Valley branch. The customer who wrote the cheque is 85 years old. She has dealt with the RBC for over 40 years. She can not get around. She wrote me a cheque to go to HER bank to cash and then to go get her $30 worth of groceries. I took the cheque, as I have many times before, to HER branch to cash. I was informed, even though I had done this numerous times before, that it would cost $5 to cash because I am not an RBC customer. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was the most selfish, inconsiderate, self righteous person I have dealt with in years. Completely unempathetic. All she discussed, and cared about, was the $5 RBC charge to cash a cheque on an RBC customer that dealt at that branch. I want to know if this is against the law????? The customer has all ready paid to have an account there. Why should there be a charge for me to cash their customers cheque when I had sufficient identification????The branch manager here is a selfish, self righteous, snotty individual that is only interested in the money the RBC can steal from their clients. No better than a politician.
