Provincial SCAM Services. There's a reason there is only either 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews here. The 1 star reviews are real. Search his name - Steven Gamsby - before you make any deals with this guy. Look for his past work and health history. Talk to his old bookkeeper. KARMA EDIT: For those of you who got scammed, I recommend you get the police involved. I contacted the OPP shortly after the incident and a nice officer took my statement. She informed me that she would instruct him to pay back my deposit or else he would be placed under arrest. A couple of weeks later I received a call from his legal aid informing me that he had a cheque to give me for the full amount of the deposit I paid. Mind you it was only $1000 but I'm hoping some of the others that were owed more can get their money back as well.

My apologies up front as there are so many positives I’m sure I’ll forget a few and I also don’t know where to begin. A+++ communication. Steven was quick to respond to my initial inquiry. Quick to schedule a prompt site visit to my century home following our first conversation following that email inquiry. Quick to assess what was going on with and how to save my century barn with gaping cracks in the rubble wall. Quick to confirm initial assessment and modify game plan as needed after digging to investigate further. And quick to get started. Project took a little longer than first anticipated due to uncooperative weather, however, there was daily calls and updates. Very thorough. The quote that was provided was very detailed, explaining what was being done, why it was being done, how he was going to do it, and the method and materials being used. He outlined work that was necessary as well as optional work and explained why the optional work was optional. His crew was also very thorough with their work. Very pleased with the end result. Time will ultimately tell 100 years from now when that barn is still standing. The price was where I thought it would be, but given Steven’s level of care and professionalism I thought he would’ve quoted more and I would have to negotiate down citing competitive quotes. Excellent value for money. Passionate. I feel that Steven is genuinely excited about his work. It really comes across when he spoke not just about our project, but past and current projects he is working on. In my case, he found out a little bit of history about my home from family. Definitely recommend. I’ve got him coming back tomorrow for another project and likely in the spring for what I hope to be the last project on this home. Don’t ever change!

This company is horrible. Not only because of lacklustre employees but mostly because the owner Steven Gamsby, is a poor excuse of a business owner but even more so of a man. We are a waterproofing and construction company based in the GTA area. Steven saw our work, reached out to us and asked if we were able to take on some jobs as a subcontractor. We agreed. The beginning was fine. No issues at all. The first I’d say four jobs went smooth. Great work. Happy customers. Payment was somewhat prompt. All was well. So well that we dedicated a lot of our time to jobs subbed out to us from Steven. As the months went on we noticed that Steven had been taking a while to pay for completed work. As a business, we understand. But after a month or so of being past due, that’s stretching it. But still, after confronting Steven about it with concerns of non payment prior to us taking on more work, he began to explain what was going on in his personal life. Being the type of people we are here at Aqua Stop Waterproofing and Construction, won’t say what we were told, as much as we’d like to air this poor excuse of a mans dirty laundry. Which now today we feel that it was all a lie. And some of the lies were horrible where any human being would have sympathy to the situation. He assured us that he was back on track and that he would rectify the past due invoices and asked for us to continue to take on work. Having hearts, we did. Huge mistake. The last job we did for Steven was one of the many this season that we had to go redo something that his incompetent “crew” had messed up. We had to go save them on so many jobs this year. Steven owes us invoices from first week of august still to this day. It’s not for an insane amount of money. The amount isn’t the issue. It’s the principle. The integrity. Especially with the year that has gone on for everybody. It was such a hard year for many people. It’s sad what he has done to people. Steven has lied about paying us for the overdue balance many times. Not only heartbreaking personal life stories that now we know were all a huge and horrible lie but in regards to the actual payment itself. Steven has offered to make payment several times knowing that he didn’t have the money. So many different times he has told us he was going to make a payment today or within a few hours and left us a waiting. In regards to the lies he has driven to us and handed us cheques made out to the wrong company name, gotten someone at his office to lie and say he took the wrong cheque to us. On another occasion he had us waiting for 3 hours for him half way in a parking lot, kept saying he was on his way and when he got there handed us an empty envelope. Has driven two hours to give us a cheque that he knew was going to bounce. Has lied about borrowing money from family, loan sharks, the government. The list goes on. Has told us he was ten minutes away and didn’t show up numerous times. To be honest, it’s comical. Half of the 5 star ratings this company has is from jobs that we did! The rest are probably lies. Probably Steven writing them himself. This owner and company are definitely the one to skip on your list when you need work done. Here at Aqua Stop Waterproofing and Construction, we want to help any family or homeowner that has been robbed from this man. Any jobs that Steven or this company has started and left people hanging, call us and we will finish the job for you, on time and properly for the remaining balance owed to provincial site services. Also, any new clientele coming here to check out reviews about this horrible company, call us instead. When you call, say Steven and we will pay the tax on any renovation you hire us to do instead of Steven and provincial site services. Hopefully, this man gets help and rectifies his wrong doings. Sad to see such a grown man blatantly lie several times about something. And not just to us. We are the one of many people he has done this too this year. He’s a thief. Aqua Stop Waterproofing and Construction. “When it rains, it pours!”

I needed my home lifted and rotten timbers and beams removed and replaced. Steve and his crew did an outstanding job. It was difficult to get anyone to even come and give an estimate when told what I needed. They worked in a crawl space for days, and were meticulous in bringing my home back to an even keel. They insulated their work and cleaned up before leaving me a very happy man. Thank you Provincial Site Services.

My husband George has left a review previously re: work on our century old barn, which we were extremely pleased with. We have since had Steven and team back to address foundation issues on our century home. We were again blown away by the quality of work. Steven is so pleasant to deal with, took the time to explain his course of action with us, was responsive and super friendly from beginning of project until the end. Most importantly the project was completed on time and on budget even though we of course found some complications once excavation was complete. I work in the construction industry and I can say that this was the best managed construction site I have ever seen. Thanks again Steven and team for another amazing project!

Steven and his team are very Professional reliable and dependable. The project Steve and his team worked at my home was very tedious and quite a bit complicated. Very tight space to work but the job done was immaculate. I high recommend Steve due to his professionalism, knowledge understanding of how to perform the job to its best.

Update to original post Before choosing to go with Steven and Provincial Site in June 2020 I looked at the reviews and they were all 5 stars. My personal experience at that time was true as started in my original post. However, fast forward to December 2020, the water leakage in my basement is still unresolved. Frankly, Steven has turned up 1 out of 10 times after repeated promises and tried to fix it but the leakage persists and he is no longer taking my calls and I have made payment in full. I assumed he had taken on more work than the business could handle and was probably in over his head. I’m not making any excuses for him as I have been lied to on several occasions as well. I’m taking a look at the current reviews on the site and I’m appalled that all the recent reviews mirror my current experience. Something evidently went wrong recently. Steven, fix your issues and save your company, you seemed to be doing great until recently. Reach out to your clients, no more lies, only make promises you intend to keep. And by the way, I never got those freebies, they were unfulfilled promises. Original post When I discovered a water leakage in my basement, I called on a number of contractors to give an estimate which they all did but I chose to go with Provincial Site because Steven was the only contractor who showed empathy as this discovery was made two weeks after purchasing a new house. He advised I be patient to ensure the problem persisted as this could be a onetime event not minding he may not have a contract with me if the water leakage turned out to be a one-off. It wasn’t a one-off and so the waterproofing was done, a deck replaced and Steven threw in two freebies of building a base for an outdoor shed as well as a wooden box for a chimney. How many contractors would be this kind and considerate? The service was par excellence and I totally recommend this company.

I'm a little late posting our review, but wanted to share our experience. This past winter we had the unfortunate pleasure of having water leak into our basement after a freak January rainstorm. I called 8 different companies and got 8 different opinions on where the water was coming from and how we should fix it. When Steve showed up, he did his assessment, but was hesitant to give a quote and suggest an immediate course of action until we had a better idea of where the water was coming from. Fast forward two weeks and another heavy rain storm brought about more seepage - this time Steve suggested a course of action and was on site the next day to dig outside. Within in an hour, they were able to pinpoint the cause - a cracked underground drainage pipe that had not been sealed properly. With a 3-day window of favourable mild weather, his crew dug around the outside of our house to confirm there was no other damage or cracks to the foundation and water proofed the outer wall. There was a slight issue with putting our deck back together, but Steve came back and took care of that issue personally. From start to finish, Steve and the crew at Provincial were efficient and fair with their pricing - no over the top quotes. We waited to fix our basement flooring until the spring, just for peace of mind, and didn't see a drop of water during the many spring storms. Having water in your basement is never a good experience, but Provincial Site Services helped make it as painless as possible - and their 25 year warranty shows the confidence they have in the work they do. Thanks again to Steve and his crew - his honest, straight-forward approach exuded trust and confidence and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. ,
