My professional context relates to my position as Manager of Social Work and Attendance for the Toronto District School Board, Learning Center 1. Heather has worked with my department as a masters level student. Her supervisors indicate that she was excellent at all levels of her work. I am also aware of her work with community agencies dealing with some of our more hard to serve TDSB student population. She has demonstrated excellent assessment skills in her cases. She has demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication. Her level of self awareness and flexibility in all cases is outstanding. She conducts her counselling practices from a anti racist, inclusive point of view. She bring to her practice a highly developed sense of personal location in all situations which allows her to be as equitable and inclusive with her clients as is humanly possible. She is punctual and dependable. I believe that one of her strongest quality is her ability to connect and build rapport with clients and people in general. She is warm, understanding, non judgemental and genuinely caring about the wellbeing of all she comes in contact with. She is very willing to give the very hard messages that is necessary to the clients best interest and wellbeing. She is definitely someone who I would gladly hire to work in my agency and someone I would collaborate with in all related social work context.
