Premiere Dance Academy - Calgary

My daughter has been dancing at Premiere for 12 years. A family friendly studio with supportive and encouraging teachers. It is a nice dance community where students and families are there for each other. I highly recommend this place!

I have two girls that have been dancing at Premiere Dance Academy since they were both 3 years old (now 10 and 13). One is in the competitive program and the other in the recreational program. The teachers are knowledgeable, respectful and my girls have made so many friends here. The new studio is stunning. I highly recommend Premiere Dance Academy.

Great studio! Beautiful space with large, spacious, state of the art studios as well as a lovely lounge and kitchenette area for dancers to eat their snacks. Amazing staff and teachers make this an awesome choice to learn or expand a students love of dance. The dancers who go here are as lovely as can be, with awesome attitudes and are always super welcoming to new students. All in all, Premiere Dance Academy is a top notch dance studio that has the best Calgary has to offer. 10/10!!!

I absolutely love Premiere Dance Academy, I have been dancing at Premiere since a I was five{now 14} and I fell in love with the place ever since! The teachers are amazing and I learn so much every class! I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and Premiere has given me so many wonderful experiences I will never forget! All the staff supports me in every decision I make and wants nothing but the best for me ! Soon as I step in the building I feel loved, welcomed and safe{especially during Covid 19 times}! thank you Premiere Dance Academy for everything!

Over a span of approximately 9 years, both of my daughters danced at Premiere Dance Academy. Starting as recreational dancers, then moving to competitive team members, as a family we spent countless hours both at the studio and on the road with the team. We found the teachers and environment extremely supportive, and dance was a huge part of our lives. As a family owned studio, we got to know both Lisa and Todd very well and always felt that they were invested in our children and worked tirelessly to create impactful experiences. My girls gained both confidence & friendships throughout their time at PDA. I would highly recommend Premiere Dance Academy!

I have had the best last 21 years of my life watching my three daughters grow up at Premiere. With this unfortunately being our last year there with the graduating of our youngest daughter. So many incredible memories. So many amazing people. Really a second family for them. Great experiences and friendships that will probably last a lifetime. There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am that we were able to have Premiere Dance Academy as a huge part of our lives. Love everyone there ❤️

When my family moved to calgary we chose Preimere Dance Academy as our dance studio. Its variety of classes and available times, with a list of impressive and versatile faculty and teachers had us happy and comfortable to be at the studio as if it was our second home. I danced at the studio for 5 years and continued on as a class sub teacher and part of the faculty staff for 2 more years. The studio director and teacher Ms.Lisa treats each dancer with respect, and willing to go above and beyond in order to see each succeed in all their classes. The studio is one large family! in the halls, classes, and recital or competition day the senior dancers are always interacting and having fun with the intermediates and the intermediates with the juniors. Everyone of all ages and technical ability has other dancers to learn and grow from. The environment in the studio is always highly spirited, that I always felt physically and mentally safe to try my best without judgement on my character. Ms. Lisa and the staff always surprised me by how quickly they got to know everyone on such a personal level. You can tell right away, every dancer that comes through the front doors is accepted for who they are and will be apart of the Premiere family forever. Although I graduated afew years ago and dont have children of my own to enrol, for these reasons I still attend every year end recital to see how the teachers and studio contines to grow. I would highly recommend Premiere Dance Academy to anyone wanting to enrol their children into a studio that will push them to always be growing technically, emotionally and physically. Knowing when they graduate they will always have a dance family to lean on and celebrate accomplishments with!

We were with Premiere for many years. However the elitist attitude of the owner creates and supports an environment where the competitive dancers are held in higher regard. Bullying behavior was tolerated and left unaddressed despite being raised. If your child is in the competitive program then this may be a good fit for you, but if your child is dancing for enjoyment, your fees including your costume fees are going towards subsidizing the competitive program and you will be treated as second class. We finally went to another dance studio in the NW which has been a breath of fresh air. UPDATE: In response to Lisa's response to my review, I have the following thoughts... while I realize it may be difficult to read a less than flattering review, I find it amusing that instead of trying to understand our experience at your studio (and we were not alone in our thoughts), you've chosen to label me as a bully with an agenda. I want to ensure you that the only agenda I have in sharing our experience with your dance academy is to outline that my child and other non competitive dancers who shared classes with competitive dancers experienced bullying behaviors which were raised with the instructor and subsequently raised with you, however you chose not to address it and allow this hostile environment to continue. This ultimately resulted in our family leaving Premiere despite being part of your studio for a number of years. My only agenda is to share our experience and I want to outline that anyone who is in the competitive program likely is in the right place because you are very talented and definitely know your stuff. With that said, our experience with you as a person was that you rarely smiled, interactions were often terse and uncomfortable and you exuded an unapproachable and negative energy. Life is definitely too short and if we're paying for a service, we expect it to be a pleasant experience. I have no need to revisit our experience with your studio by calling to discuss the matter with someone who didn't address the issues at the time. We are happy with our new studio where we are treated respectfully.
