Hired Preferred Immigration to help with a TRV application for my girlfriend as I had many situational questions. I was not confident in my ability to get everything put together properly and thought a consultant would be able to get everything in proper order. Based on Google reviews it seems like this is a reputable company to work with. All other reviews mentioned Manavi as being exceptional however I was assigned Gurleen for my case. Overall I feel very dissatisfied with the help that I was given. Questions were vaguely answered with no reassuring information as to why. Just many "Yes" and "No" answers and a dismissive attitude. For instance, many people on forums and websites strongly suggest a detailed itinerary with dates and times, and after asking for details as how this is handled I am basically told don't worry about it. The invitation letter simply stated "visit my friend for a month to go hiking, etc." Doesn't seem very well put together. At the top of the form it very specifically states to put all names in English and the original language like Chinese, arabic, etc. I asked about this and the answer is simply "there is no obligation." This just leaves me confused as it says IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. Why is it not an obligation? Red flags that did not sit well with me are when I showed up to the office, to have my invitation letter notarized, Carl's certificate for his Commissioner of Oaths sitting on the table was almost 2 years expired. I asked him about this and he was surprised. He spent 15 minutes while I waited looking for an up to date certificate but was not able to provide. That was awkward. Could be an honest mistake. Another red flag was reading the invitation letter drafted by Gurleen, there were quite a few grammatical errors. Carl then also read it, and didn't look impressed, making corrections of his own. Only stating "yeah it's ok..." It was very awkward having to correct her English for such an important document that was provided by her. While she stood there and watched. Carl looked quite disappointed and even commented on it, saying "yeah she does this..." I guess it's my fault for having them draft it? After these issues I should have run away but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After providing documents with addresses and names, Gurleen typed it onto the form for herself but it was full of spelling mistakes.l, saying she couldn't read my writing. Shouldnt you have asked for clarification? Even so far as putting the COUNTRY of residence in the middle of the address instead of at the end? Why wasn't I just instructed to type it in myself with the easy to use pdfs from the Canada website? It would have been far easier and less hassle to just type it in myself. Instead I have to print it out, write everything down, scan, send it in, have her type it up, and send it back again asking for a signature. Then waste time fixing her mistakes. Just doesn't make any sense. Whether or not our application was strong enough to be approved, which it wasn't, I feel it was a confusing, stressful and very unprofessional process. I feel like I just threw away $1000 and now we have a refused visa on our file. I have now filed for an ATIP on this application to get a deeper look on this. And the icing on the cake, after asking for advice on what to do next, after I said multiple times that I cannot go to china to marry my girlfriend and sponsor her because of covid, the entire reason why she suggested to apply for a TRV as our best bet, her response is to travel to china to marry her so I can sponsor her. Were you even listening? Very bad taste in my mouth. Edit: I am well aware of how hard it is to get a canadian visa, which is why I hired you to help make sure everything is in order. I explained my situation clearly and truthfully, asking for advice and it was you who told me a visitor's visa was the best bet. It was also you who said NOT to mention our relationship. The point of my review is not about being rejected.

I used their services to submit applications for my wife to become a Canadian permanent resident, and for my US born children to get their proof of Canadian citizenship. Although the process took a long time due to the onset of Covid, in the end it was successful. Manavi was very helpful and always answered my emails in a kind and professional way as we waited for the immigration authorities to do their thing. I plan to retain their services again in a few years if my wife decides to pursue Canadian citizenship.
